AAS is like fertilizer for a plant. It makes you retain nitrogen and puts you in a position where you can grow if you train hard and diet properly. AAS on their own have been shown to grow muscle even in people who don't exercise, so there's that also (i can pull the study if you want).

no need i know the study

They simply make sure that what you eat goes to all the right places, provided that what you eat is of quality of course.

Yup seeing more and more kids just pick it up to gain weight and they don’t try increasing calories

Damn i hate when i hear people say "i cant gain mass so i will take gear to bulk up for summer" they aint going to gain sh1t, just get leaner.

Now when/if someone says " been training for some years now and i get fat while bulking and dont gain muscle and my diet is clean"
or
"I am losing muscle as i cut and i feel like sh1t"

Now that is a whole different story.

Yeah. AAS will put muscle on a sedentary type of person who doesn’t workout and who’s then obviously extremely far from their genetic potential. That’s what the study says. Now try and give AAS to someone who’s built some muscle already and see if he builds muscle without working out and sitting on his ass. Of course if you take a 5 foot 10 140 lbs skinny tweeker noodle and put him on 500mg of test he’s going to grow 8-10 lbs. see if he gains any more than that after though.

If we are referring to testosterone, most anyone on TRT will attest to the fact you do gain weight and many guys that don't work out regularly do appear more muscular. Now, we know that staying in physiological ranges will have minimal affect, but with increased androgen sensitivity, not the test itself.

Granted, some of this can be attributed to water gain, but it is weight gain nonetheless.

They do, the hard part is to keep the weight you gained when the cycle is done, good luck with that if you don’t increase your calories.

and that was absolutely why I started with gear. As an ex fatty I used to hate losing any semblance of abs as soon as I gained weight and then regardless of how slow or controlled I cut I’d end up lean and weak. Spinning wheels really (maybe gaining a kg of muscle in a year type situation)

Same here, physique wise i hit a natural peak early, at 19, and for some reason i simply couldnt achieve the same level of development in my early 20s

So i said fuk it, its obvious things are going south, so why not.

At barely 19 i was 245-250 bulked up, then cut down to 225 lean, was getting all kinds of stares on the beach.

Then at 21-22 when i tried to do the same i was ending up at 210 at the same bf that i was at at 19 but 15 lbs lighter, not nearly as impressive.

Physical job had a lot to do with it but i also couldnt simply perform in the gym as when i was 16-19, the pumps back in the day were sth else, sth nowadays i can only recreate while enhanced.

Also on a logical point of view, if you’re going on TRT it’s most likely because your levels were below 300, which means your physique is far from what it should be if your levels were higher. You’re usually in a shitty state. It’s pretty normal that going from 250 or whatever TT to 800ish TT will show significant body recomp even if you don’t train.

Logic would dictate that, but in my experience it is not the case with myself or a number of others I trained and currently train with. I was competing in local strong man comps, playing rugby, and basically as active as anyone with normal test and I was ripped up. I actually went to my doctor because I was struggling so hard to recover, had brain fog, couldn’t handle stress, and in general was feeling like crap. The only time I felt normal was when I was doing something active. I first tested in low 200s, low free, and various other markers were off. They wanted me to start right then but I wanted to try and raise it and fix things without TRT. Went on that journey for a year and kept getting tested, but by the time I made a decision I tested in the mid 100s and still looked like I was on a cycle. My whole family is like this on my dads side, just muscled up Hungarians. Lol
