Steroids Are Blamed in Suicide of Young Athlete

compassion for what?

He's dead and that's ashame but he's dead because of his own ignorance. I'm not trying to be a dick but if we'd start teaching Invalid Link Removed responsibility then these things might not happen.

If he had of been using coke, would the same reaction/attention be given? Would we try to have compassion or says "That's too bad but it's his own stupid fault"?

I dunno. Maybe I'm just tired of seeing the blame placed on things where blame doesn't belong in my opinion.

Cant say it better than that my man.

Did steroids cause his depression? Honestly, I think it is actually highly likely that the low levels of endogenous test resulting from his usage could very easily have made him depressed. Plus, he was a teenager so he's more susceptable to negative psychological side effects of hormonal imbalances.

So what is to blaim? He is. He is to blaim for taking them in the first place. If he had done his homework he wouldn't have taken them. If he had taken them anyway after doing his homework, he would have started PCT when his parents took his stuff away. But he didn't do his homework. He didn't do his due dilligence. So what is to blaim for his suicide? He is. He and no one else and nothing else.

I hope this serves as a lesson to those under 21 thinking about doing a cycle or two, or five.

He was in the same situation I was in about a year ago (age 16). I wanted to start taking steroids. I researached, and decided to wait a year or 6. Too bad he didnt look before he leaped, before he took steroids AND before he jumped off the bridge.

And yes, I'm going to hell for that joke.

you were smart and did your homework, I'm going to assume the kid missed that step

Reforvit B perhaps? The article did say something about going over to mexico to get gear. Maybe people use injectable so its not as taxing on the liver....and you dont have to pop tabs all day.
if im correct reforvit is not sold in mexico which then degrades this articles creadibility. i wounder what else they made up...

This doesn't even sound real. If this isn't made up, somebody pinch me. Is there anybody this fucking stupid on the planet?
No, your dumb ass son commited suicide. Thank you Darwin!

.....PINCH :trout: !!!

Although this is VERY stupid thing to say, barry bonds does it, it does get worse.

The article said he went to Mexico to get gear, jomi822 said that maybe he was getting reforvit.

At my High School, nobody juiced. Yet there were about a dozen or so kids throughout my school that have committed suicide, at least that I knew of. I can't believe the writers are so oblivious to the fact that teenagers occasionally commit suicide. If someone were to get huge just so he can look better to girls, chances are, the kid has self esteem issues to begin with.
Seriously, I commited seppuku(suicide) several times as a teen.

I understand what you're saying, but the thing here is, if you're saying "well his parents couldn't do this, they couldn't wipe his ass they couldn't lick his balls they couldn't feed him his moms tits" etc, then HOW THE **** could they have MADE HIM stop cold turkey? I know when I was 19, in college, and on drugs, when my dad told me to stop, I told him to **** off... Why didn't the guy just stop, and run his PCT? Oh wait, my guess is we aren't getting the whole story here. This is a MEDIA ARTICE, NOT ONE WRITTEN BY THE PARENTS... It's out to put a negative spin on steroids. So here's what probably really happened... They kid took juice, confessed, his parent's WHIGGED OUT because "WE GO TO CHURCH, WE GIVE YOU EVERYTHING, AND YOU COME INTO OUR HOUSE AND USE STEROIDS?!!!" Then they flip out, and make him feel like ****, and throw everything away, including PCT... So here sits a kid in his room, grounded for 2 weeks, w/out PCT feeling like a lardass... Yes, he's too young to be using so hormonal issues were more than likely prevelant also, but it's everything tied into one man, imagine being that kid, put yourself in his shoes, and understand the last days of his life and what they were probably like...

So in conclusion, it's the kids fault for using so young, parents fault for over-reacting and not being educated, and probably not listening to their kid. But in the great U S of A, it's going to get blamed on STEROIDS, or the latest bad guy of the media and / or congress scapegoat... this article makes me think of SouthPark: The Movie
I agree, alot.

"But Barry Bonds does it," his parents remember Efrain saying."

Oh give me a break!

First of all, no one has ever proven that bonds used roids and second, barry also does the following

1) has sex with his wife (if you kid gets pregnant, is it barrys fault?)
2) drives a car (my kid stole my car and hit a tree, its your fault mr. Bonds)

If were going to blame steroid use in teens on barry bonds, we should blame the 2 things I said above on him, too. Parents just dont want to say that there kid is dead because they were sucky parents and didnt know what he was doing, they want to put it all on bonds.
Yeah, I had sex with a small boy the other day, and my parents are taking Michael Jackson to court next week.

heres a a few new ideas...

If my kid gets fat and kills himself bc he is made fun of all the time, can I blame it on popular lard a$$es like Michael Moore?

If my spouse cheats on me, it's Clinton's fault! Thats right, its ok if a PRESIDENT does something wrong but god for bid an athlete takes Invalid Link Removed to deliver maximum performance and help his team win.

Quit bashing the kid, he payed the ultimate price for what he did, and has no way to defend himself. What he did was not smart, but he didnt desereve to die? Everyone now and then is tempted by the prospect of MORE.

That was not what was getting bashed.. the MISTAKEN belief that steriods had a major cause in his death.. He must have had some problems that went way beyond anything that MIGHT have been brought on from a case of PCT depression... did he desereve to die, NO but he should have not been screwing around with things he had NO clue on... period..

CDB- I don't think denial is an American phenomenon.
No...but it's a popular past-time. :D

On another note. Knowledge is what could have saved his life. Knowledge his parents could have gotten...
and knowledge he could have gotten. Unfortunately the giant stigma placed on certain anabolics has practically shut off any knowledge consumption by the general public concerning AAS. I believe a combination of society/media and government has squelched the ability for people to feel safe while asking questions that could save thier lives.

....Ok who needs to stand on this box next..lol.

I read from the previous Muscular Development that when the other baseball player who was 18 killed himself, it can almost be pin-pointed to the doctors and parents.
If he was able to finish his cycle and correctly balence out his test levels, it would not have drove him insane.

Sorry if you talked about this, i dont have time to read all of it i gotta go to work!

actually if he had just not even done a cycle at his age he would have been much much better off...
that is very true also. I am around his age (19) and I would not do any cycles..(yet)
