Statins?

I’ve been on TRT & cycled for well over a decade. About a year back is when my PCP tried to get me on Lipitor. I refused for quite a while. But, my cholesterol levels never fell back down after my last tren run about a year ago. So, I finally gave in - been on 40mg’s of Lipitor for maybe 6 months now. Started getting joint/tendon type pains - but, they all subsided.

I don’t know what exactly I was looking up, but I came across muscle loss as being one of the side effects.

Anyone have input on this?

My lipid levels look great now, I haven’t lost much size since going back down to just trt levels(200mg weekly).

What was your HDL & LDL previously, versus now?

Statins seem to promote blood sugar issues/metabolic syndrome very longterm. So I’m asking to see how far off you were to gauge if you might be better off with some otc herbal stuff, or getting an Ezetimibe script.

5mg Ezetimibe can keep my LDL around 100 when cruising, and I trend towards 120-130 on blasts. I also use some natural supplements, but Ezetimibe is generally good for about a 10% reduction in LDL with no diet intervention (which is also realistically important, as well as avoiding things like Tren if they massively skew things).

HDL was 28 & LDL was 197

After HDL was 41 & LDL was 113 - as of last blood work back last July. So apparently I have been on my statin for about 10 months as of now.

I was considering doing another tren blast this summer too

If it were me, I’d consider talking to my doctor about trying to halve the atorvastatin dose to 20mg and monitor where things go. I’d also ask them to be tracking my HbA1C and insulin levels to make sure there’s no negative trending (or to make informed decisions if so).

You need to weigh if taking statins that can damage your insulin sensitivity over time & increase likelihood of an injury for a recreational Tren run makes sense to you.

I’d also consider the Tren dose (were you running 350/wk, or 140?), and if there aren’t other AAS worth exploring based on your needs (if this is a summer aesthetic cycle, can I get a good look on test/mast/var or do I really need Tren?).

it’s just the left over spares I have left on hand. That’s what I was considering too, cutting my statin dose in half. But, those have actually been my go to cycle for quite a few years(var, mast, test & some proviron have been my go to’s).

Last tren cycle that started threw my lipids to crap was only at about 200mg’s a week.

Thx for the input!

Last thing I want to mention is, 5-10mg GW during the harshest part of the run, and ideally for a few weeks after, can really help mitigate some of the collateral damage to your lipid profile. I’m not saying Cardarine is safe, but it will make your cardio easier and it will improve trigs, HDL, LDL when off and help slow decline somewhat if on.

Yep. On 20mg statin. Joint pain is regular but I just deal with it. Muscle and strength loss, perhaps, but my test dropped significantly over last three years.

Cardarine? Haven’t heard of this one yet - I’m just reading away on it right now. Is it beneficial? I seriously never heard of it

I always use gw with certain cycles. Mainly if it's a long cycle or I use tren or SD ect

Kind of a bump, if anyone sees this. I dropped my statin to half the dose. Ordered some Carderine - can I eventually drop the statin? The tendon ache in my bi’s is annoying & I won’t have another visit with my PCP for a while.

You’re an adult. You can do anything you please, within the law. Your doctor put you on the statin because your LDL level wasn’t recovering well on its own after Tren.

If it were me and I didn’t want to be on a statin, I would stop it, avoid Tren & orals, and see if I can maintain decent lipids without it. Worst case, LDL rises unacceptably again and I resume the statin. But if it’s gone down, I’d try to just maintain that with lifestyle and intelligent compound selection.

Statins can lower the amount of coenzyme q10 in the body, which can increase side effects. So supplementing with coq10 is a good idea if your on statins.

Also, why no orals? Do they affect lipid levels? I mostly stuck with Var & Proviron most recently.
Var trashes lipids, pretty much all oral steroids do. Typically it just happens on cycle and then when you come off they recover but maybe yours aren't so maybe you should avoid the orals and stick with testosterone, maybe eq, I'm sure the proviron is fine but it also doesn't really do anything notable so I'd ditch it anyway

JFC guy, come on - that’s like Gear 101 type info.

Yes, orals, Tren, and DHT derivatives typically hurt lipids harder than test, EQ, & nandrolone. All gear hits lipids more as dosages go up, but DHTs like mast & primo hit it harder per mg, and all orals will because they have to be directly metabolized by the liver & inhibit the way it clears cholesterol.

You can take one tab of Dbol, pull bloods next day and see an obvious difference. Which compounds with routine use obviously.

And individual response of course matters too, but as a rule orals are the worst for lipids.

Never put two & two together much - till I got older

A decade ago my lipids would return back to normal range a few months after strong tren runs
