Starting to jog - advice needed.

So im looking to start some jogging, at the moment i can jog for around 5 minutes and i feel absolutely F***ed. However i can ride a bike for hours on end...

Is there any 'routine' as such that can help me get my endurance and stamina up, my dad in his late 40's can run for miles on end and be fine, he's been doing it all his life, and at my age (19) i think i should easily be able to keep up with him but i cant.

any help will be appreciated.

FYI - If i just need to justjog and stop being a ***** let me know, just asking for advice see if you guys have any help in the area :D
 
Have a search around for beginners programs on running 5kms/3 miles.
Most consist of running for a minute, walk 1 or 2 minutes. Then work up to running 2 mins and walking 1. Then 5 and 1 etc.

And get some good shoes ;)
