Starting out!

Hey guys I'm really just trying to give this a go! I've been training for around 8 years with ok gains, but just kinda hit a Plato and have for about a year. Don't know how to get it(haven't really tried sure I could at my gym) or what to start. I've tried research but feel if probably get better info from someone I know is experienced.

Do more research and decide what you want to ask man. There's a hundred first cycle threads here. But really you're pretty young man. Maybe try some daa and erase or something like that.
 
Play with workout templates. Sheiko's beginner template worked wonders for me when I had hit one heck of a plateau. At 21, good technique and lots of volume does wonders.

Also Diet. At 20% bodyfat either you are a strength athlete who does not care about aesthetics, or your diet can use tweaking. If you don't care about aesthetics...eat like an animal and add more volume. Play around with intensity as long as your form is on point. Form...form..form. At 21 I wish I would have dropped the ego and just focused on form and volume.

Don't stress about plateaus. They are a normal part of the lifting game. Keep grinding it out.
