To motivate others of course! 😊

For me, it would be "Fight to survive" by Stan Bush. (movie: Bloodsport)

By the way, can you guys request specific songs to be played at your gym?

Nice, I can relate brother. I should get out my vinyl. Got my lower end haromon kardon turntable tuned up a couple of years ago, but have not used it much. Got some old tannoy oxfords. I play guitars too. Just keep turning everything up louder as the hearing goes eh from Canada.

Creeping Death is my jam!

Sharp Dressed Man by ZZ Top always gets my juices flowing hot too.

Devil Driver, Lamb of God, Hatebreed, Five Finger Death Punch are all good for very heavy intense work. I enjoy some DMX & the like too. I kind of prefer more classic rock, pop & country for more general training though because you burn yourself out getting too psyched up/extreme for too long.

If I just had to pick something to play over the commercial gym speakers I’d love to lift to that is appropriate for everyone, I’d go with Eye of the Tiger by Survivor

Thunder and Lightning Thin Lizzy
old school...thin lizzy was popular with us rock guys onboard my ship back in 70s-80s--along with other rarely mentioned james gang, steppenwolf, and uriah heep.

btw-the long album version of '[i know] i'm losing you' by rare earth is incredible---hard to believe they got that sound with the technology that was available--kind reminds me of how good the effects of dark side of the moon were for early 70s, 1st time my friends and i heard dsotm we were totally blown away....another one is moody blues-'nights in white satin---and procol harum 'whiter shade of pale'

and no one who has heard it could forget 'hocus pocus' by focus....i could go on and on---there was so much great music from MY GENERATION--isn't that right THE WHO?

lol...i grew up with vinyl, it will always be superior to me...of course 8track was fantastic since it made music mobile...i also liked CDs because walkmans were a real step up from 8tracks, but i always thought if i had a choice i would choose vinyl over CD everytime-hands down!!!

sorry about your hearing loss--reminds me of the comment section on youtube--'when i listen to pink floyd everyone listens to pink floyd'...keep on rockin!!!

original riding the storm out--gary richrath on guitar version
reo speedwagon

stevie ray and jeff healey little sister---two legends!!!

riders on the storm
la woman
doors
My older brother used to be famous for lip syncing Doors LA Woman at every party and bar he went to back in the early 90s. He finally came down here to visit me in New Orleans and he did it at some bar in Bourbon Street! It was awesome! Crowd was going nuts! Lol

still enjoy hearing that song-the doors were way ahead of their time musically...i remember being in elementary school when light my fire 1st came out--we thought we were cool going up to the girls and telling them to light my fire.....doors got banned from the sullivan show for 'we couldn't get much higher'...google 'couldn't get much higher and see how many times others have used it---almost every rap song has something stolen from 60s 70s songs either music or lyrics....there will never be another era of creativity like the era i grew up in.

I just go for the gym classics like AC/DC, Metallica, Rammstein, Disturbed, 5FDP, Korn.. I'm limited to what CD's we have at our gym though and which ones are still working. The player is free to use for everyone, but I've been going there for so long, that sometimes I tend to boss around a bit on the choice of music 😁 A funny thing is, that I don't like to listen the kind of music, that I'd listen outside of gym much. Like RATM fits very well for lifting, but I like it so much, that I'll end up low key dancing around and lip syncing, when I should be grabbing the weights, lol.

AC/DC always good in the gym. It’s really interesting to me actually that I enjoy a lot in the gym that I may not really like elsewhere, but if the energy is right it really helps to do the work.

how about the clash-should i stay or should i go..rock the casbah

One of the best covers I've ever heard is Foo Fighters - Baker Street. Excellent remake..

I also dig Limp Bizkit - Behind Blue Eyes

Both groups did those songs well.

today
rock the casbah
should i stay or should i go
paranoid
comfortably numb
aqualung
cross eyed mary
locomotive breath
stealin
east livin
dreams i'll never see
war pigs
bridge of sighs
riders on the storm
another brick in the wall
and finished with green grass and high tides

30 minutes of lifting and around a hour on treadmill-it was raining to hard to run outdoor.

Home gym here, but man, my tastes vary. Punk, metal, hard rap, hard rock:
AC/DC
Judas Priest
The Clash
The Dead Kennedys
Public Enemy
Rob/White Zombie
Iron Maiden
Motorhead
Body Count
Megadeth
etc

Outside the gym, I include more stuff, but when I'm working out, I like to keep it intense. Well, when I'm lifting weights or doing HIIT, not so much if I am trying to get in a walk lol

Edit to add: there was one occassion when I was walking with the buds in, listening to Megadeth, muttering the lyrics to "Sweating Bullets" under my breath. It seemed to make the people around me uncomfortable /shrug

my favorite priest song by far is victim of changes...don't like the live versions as much but i sure wore out a ton of cassettes of sad wings of destiny in my walkman running on the fight deck of the eisenhower...

another good 1 i forgot--accept.... balls to the wall

I like to play James Brown when I work out. Very energy inducing.
i have a cape and purple velvet underwear for listening to the godfather--and then i can sing along with i feel good with meaning.

any TRIUMPH fans here?
i wore out allied forces, every song was good-could put that cassette in my walkman and listen to both sides with no fast forward.

how about the scorpions?
