IMO, soft muscles just mean you are lacking muscle density/hardness. This can be corrected by a high protein diet. Also, it could just be fat and water retention or training program/diet. Damn everyone and their repetitive open ended questions! LOL that wasn't aimed at you bro!

lol i agree with aggravated, dude it doesnt mean really a perticular thing, mainly that its lacking protein to have hard muscles, but the point is higher protein will do tha, also lot of water retention not hard enough workouts to really target the muscle there can be alot of lil factors that make this happen

Correct me if I'm wrong, but muscle is muscle, and is always hard. The softness some people feel is probably due to fat layers on top of it.

I honestly don't know why you would be concerned with how your muscles feel. Eat,lift, sleep, supplement, and use punctuation. Then if you still have "soft" muscles maybe just flex constantly.

Muscle has to be TRAINED to become hard - otherwise, the effect is strictly cosmetic. If that's all you want, well - there you are.

However, this points up the fact that *size* does not equal *strength*.

Another suggestion that folks drill thru the archives here: there is SO much info available. In this case, there's been a lot of talk about guys who just take 'anabolics' without putting in the sweat-time under the iron to really build a physique: it makes them 'big' - but soft, and deceptively weak.

So: if your muscles are big, but soft, you're not working hard enough for what you've got.

Well said.

My gf is amazed at how "squishy" my muscles are. I've never felt another dudes muscles though, so I don't have much to compare my hardness to.
