Sleep insomnia!

Ok so I have bouts of bad insomnia which kills my training. I'll go sometimes 2-4 days with 0 hours of sleep. Each night I can't sleep I get more nervous for the next night wondering if I will be able to sleep. It's the worst feeling in the world i used to think of sleep as a sanctuary.
I do notice long streaks of alcohol, or a long night out and getting to bed early early in the am. Makes it worse the coming days, but sometimes even without that it's awful.
I have used benydril, melatonin, zma, which sometimes work beautifully and other times when insomnia kick in don't even phase me.
Any suggestions of other things to try? Preferably don't want Rx meds. It's killing me :/

And btw I have not slept since Saturday night which I did consume alcohol. So I'll be at 60 hours no sleep about by tonight

First thing people feel from Vidatest is greatly improved sleep. Seriously check some of the logs on here.

AI 3z was decent when taken with melatonin. Hgh pro was good with melatonin. Phenibut is supposed to be amazing as well.

i've had the same thing (not drinking) but either i cant sleep or my daughter wakes up and then i can never go back to bed.

St John's Wort and PEA helped me some for the lying in bed all night but never falling asleep nights at least.

Go to walmart and get zzzquil (nyquils sleep aide) and pop some 5htp and 5g melatonin. Say good night :)

Thanks for all the suggestions I'll look into each and every one.
On zzzquil isn't it just liquid benydril technically?
I used hghpro last night and did not sleep a wink :/

Idk never looked at either ingredient. I know my brother uses it cuz he has issues falling asleep.

Yeah I think I looked at it and it was just dihydropjenyl whatever hcl 25mg which is benydril which if I usually take enough can work. Scary though cause something like 8ish can make you hallucinate

Rx may be the only way for you...

That's what worries me, my mind just starts racing at night, but some nights is fine. Idk if anyone knows how Rx works but do you take it every night no matter what or just if you can't sleep? Cause I would be ok with the latter I guess

I LOVE ambein. You dont need it every night. You will get 8 hours. Any less and you may be a little foggy in the am.

Thank you! Does it really put you out? I usually can stay asleep once I fall asleep so that's the mean issue

This is where I think most companies should have "trial sizes" of their supplements, or even free samples like some offer. therefore someone looking for a specific remedy would not have to cough out a bunch of dough only to find out things are not working and the rest of the bottle is useless.

Haha yeah I'm all for this approach, a company that is sure of its products probably wouldn't mind doing it, but then again everything works different for everyone. I would be ordering samples like crazy right now

Company's should take wind of this...you're not the only one who wishes this pal.

Actually... ai is usually giving things away. I got a bunch of samples from them. Pwo, bcaa, 3z, hgh. Try pming a rep. I bought their stuff after i tried it.

Ok, here's something else to try. I just recently stumbled onto this, but it has worked for the past 3 nights in a row, so I'm thinking there's something to it. Pop 3 fish oil capsules along with 2-3 benadryl right before bed. I've always had anxiety issues, and typically don't sleep very soundly at all (I'm on a low does of klonopin, fwiw). I don't know why I even tried this, and I don't have any idea why it may be working, but I haven't slept this well in a long time. The simplicity of it makes me think its just a fluke, but 3 nights in row? Anyone have any idea what the fish oil might be doing? Taking benadryl alone has never been this effective. I've always taken fish oil in the mornings and late afternoons, but for some reason I popped 3 the other night just before bed, and was swimming in drool when I woke up the next morning...

I got a bunch of samples from them too! Loved a lot of the stuff, used the hgh pro sample last night and laid awake in bed all night :/ didn't help

You could honestly be clinically depressed. That is, your serotonin levels specifically have been tapped out. Depression doesn't always manifest itself psychologically at first. This could be the physical symptom that's most pronounced along with the anxiety. I'd tell your doc about it because it's what happened to me and I'd never think that it would have been that. As soon as I was prescribed an anti-d, I had to use it for 2 weeks and my sleep returned to normal. It's usually intermittent and once it lifts you can come off the drugs with a tapering regimen. It's better than getting hooked on benzos or other compounds that develop tolerance and dependence.

Honestly wouldn't surprise me.. Been a rough few months and I'm a complete introvert so lots of it build up. When I get back in school I'll make an appointment at my schools doc. Thanks for the advice
