Shrank out of my lever belt :GASP:

Okay, here is the backstory. I had to drop 50lbs to join the navy. I have yo-yo dieted ever since. Yep I wrecked my metabolism and have 2 pfa failures. I love lifting though and it surprised me that I wasn't able to get my waistline in check. After the second I realized what I had been doing. So over the past year and one successful pfa (it was close though) I have taken a much slower fat loss approach than I used to. Of course over christmas I gained a bit of fat and have been slowly and sensibly losing fat. My strength over the past three months has improved slightly even while droping about 4% bf, according to my bioimpedance scale. I am still just over 20% but I do not feel burned out like I used to. I will keep going down slowly but I encountered a problem. My lifting belt can no longer get tight enough, even though I bring in a lot of air and brace against it..

The heart of the matter. My lever belt (10mm efs "stong(er)"), which I love, is now to big to provide support for my heavier lifts. I am looking at going to a single or double prong, suede IPF legal belt. But my buadget won't fit the $100-$200 price range for another month. I am thinking about just picking up a cheaper, ~$25, belt now or just attempt to alter my current lever belt to fit. Mostly I am worried that when I cut off the tongue the stitching holding it together will be gone and it will completely fall apart. I am planning on competing an PL meet in October so I will need a good belt for that. So what would you do?
