Interestingly enough I came across a study done on Eurycoma Longifolia showing a significant increase in the laevator ani muscle...curious
...But back to the topic of this thread. Chuck is right, there really aren't enough studies done on Tongkat Ali to quantitatively measure the most beneficial method of cycling for this "potent" herb. However, the studies clinically authenticating it's benefit in raising total/free testosterone and LH as well as lowering SHBG were all based on "longterm consecutive" use (around 8-12 weeks or longer). These theoretical "short burst" cycling protocols are speculations based on opinion (which doesn't make it wrong per se) it's just that there are many variables which need to be clearly defined and observed before brand stamping it as a general rule of thumb. :banned:
"And what might some of those variables be?" you might ask...well it's not known, that's why we are having this rhetorical discussion are we not

but here are just a couple of
my "theoretical opinions" (and keep in mind I'm no rocket scientist [light years from it] so take my 2 cents at face value).
1) There are various fractions of Eurycoma Longifolia and unfortunately mother nature isn't static and the potencies of these fractions are not always constant. With the aid of ALRI's research and developement team we have successfully isolated one of the pure active constituents of Tongkat Ali and incorporated the highest amounts of this proprietary active fraction in Alpha Drive...300% more than any other product out there!
Bottom line: too many fractions with too many inconsistencies to generalize.
2) Another key issue which is not often addressed is the issue of oral bioavailability with Tongkat Ali. Although this herb clinically demonstrates amazing potential, it lacks in oral bioavailability due to first pass metabolism. We observed this problem and
triumphed over it by including our proprietary grapefruit extract, CYP-X. Grapefruit has been clinically shown to drastically increase oral bioavailability of substances. One study even showed the half-life of the effect of grapefruit juice on CYP3A4 for up to 12 hours!
Bottom line: although the effects of Tongkat Ali are noticed early on, it could be that the results "appear" to subside within a week because of poor oral absorption and shorter half-life.
Now keep in mind these are only MY personal opinions on the matter and with time and testing, we shall see if these other variables could truly be the cloth of misconception surrounding Tongkat. Several of our in house testers reported that the effects in libido were noticed early on but then after the 2 week marker that's when the Alpha Drive kicked into "OVERDRIVE"! Atypical results for a "testosterone booster" such as
significant increase in muscle mass and physique recomposition were noted with comments such as "felt like I was ON", etc...
I personally look forward to the feedback from these high calibre testers on AM to see if results carryout across the board. Time will tell...
