Should I use HRT as a kickstart or long term?

Hello all,

1st off, thanks to everyone for sharing their exp and knowledge and thabks to Anabolic No d's for creating this platform. This is my 1st post but I've been reaping info from here since the days of CEL and PP was at their best.

I'm 38 and I suffocated my TT to be around 600. My free test was 5 ng/dl (?). I've tested in the past before with TT in the 800s, which was a shock, but my TT has never been the problem. It's been my FT that has consistently been low, probably due to a few cycles in my early 20s and some prohormone usage.

Anyhow, my Dr. agrees to place me on hrt to increase the FT and optimize my TT.

I read many forums and see ppl testing in the 300s TT and go on TRT. I feel that I'm about to really reap some positive benefits because my TT is already fair and my FT will be forced to convert more.

So I'm looking at a very high TT and probably a normal FT. My question is: would you agree that I am primed to serious benefits at 120mg a week or should I use the try to jumpstart the free test and maybe cycle off to see if it reenergeized my endo system?

Additionally, I'm on hcg and Adex as well.

Although another boring try thread, I'll keep posting if anyone can learn from my exp.

My first pin was yesterday at 120mg and I took Adex today. I'll pin hcg tomorrow at 5000iu (x2 pw).

I will have to getvmy cholesterol down, I've heard mixed reviews about red yeast rice so, I'm game for that conversation as well. Thanks again all, hope everyone's day is well.

I'm not a believer in short term trt, it's a life long commitment. If you could fix an issue doing that you could fix it with a cycle...

Another thing, such a dose would probably keep you at about the same numbers, from what I've seen.

I'm mainly here to hear others thoughts though.

Why are you taking that much HCG? Do trt long term or not at all, but, I would not do trt with those numbers you have...

I'm going with the Drs advice here, not sure how to dose hcg. I was told this will keep me fertile and natty T levels functioning.

I was reluctant to hrt but, my FT is so low and my sbgh is around 66.

I have side effects such as low mood, borderline depression, ED, low libido, low confidence and injury prone.

I wish proviron was available the US, it seems that has been working great for what I need.

If you have a good Dr it’s great but if you have a bad one it can hurt you more than help. HCG can be suppressive on its own and that high dose can be a reason why you feel the way you do. For reference, I only used 250iu’s x2 week to restart myself when my sperm was “too low to measure” after coming off trt for 3 yrs, within 2 month I was back.

It sounds like you’re lacking something else

I also used Clomid, Clomid at 25mg for 2 months and HCG at 250mg 2x week for 1 month and after that I got my wife pregnant.

You dont need TRT.600 is a good number. 5 LH isnt that low,you can get it up. Find natural ways to increase you test. Semen retention, intermittent fasting, yoga and herbs. You are making a mistake. Your docttor is just trying to make money off of you. I had the same numbers as you and I did TRT thinking it'll make me feel better but in the end I felt worse than I did before TRT. After a few months you get shutdown and your pineal gland doesnt produce anymore LH,this can cause mood swings and other problems.

Thanks for the feedback all.

Correction: I'm not taking 5000iu of hcg it is 500 E3D.

Turkx: I've been back and forth with taking this. I've tried many things to to increase free test to no avail.

I've been working out more serious for the past 6 months, diets alright, and I've supplemented DAA and Boron. My Free test has been down to .7 in the past. I'm not 100% sure about this but I was worried about the excess test to estrogen conversion and concerned about no libido or male sexual responsiveness.

You don’t need TRT. You need to lower your SHBG. When you do, your free T will rise. Check out this link

My opinion is that your free t is so low that it will likely not matter that much even when you lower your SHBG. By way of reference – most modern trt doctors will start thinking about testosterone replacement for a free T under 10 – yours is half that. You are also at the age where these symptoms start to begin. I would say try to do everything the natural route but don’t be concerned if things don’t work and you need to go on it long term.

This was exactly my concern. Thanks for your feedback. I'm a week in to hrt and my mood/energy is already back. I am going thru a divorce but somehow managed to have a pretty good time with the wife yesterday (in a non sexual way). Besides, week 1 of HRT and I'm ED still seeming to be an issue. Hopefully, that clears up.

Thanks again to all, I hope this thread helps others.

The benefits are cumulative and will continue to increase, peaking at around 4-6 months. So many benefits - mood, reducing inflammation, lower BP, lower glucose, increased muscle mass and of course libido.

Also, Testosterone helps a lot with ED but don’t be surprised if you still need some viagra every now and then. A god indicator of how your testosterone and Estradiol are at good levels is waking with the morning wood. A few more weeks and you should see this change as well.

I'm already doing more with my day, not to say I wasn't productive prior to get but I feel certainly more efficient.

I'm hoping for the best. I've treated the EDgoong the mental route to no avail. I was in adhd meds but i felt worse and I believe they gave me tenonitus. I ditched them and said "f" it, I'm going the trt way.

I've followed so many threads on here to prepare for this and I'm so happy I started. Of course, this thread was created so I have a platform of experienced people's advice. Plus, I know there's many in my situation and anabolic minds has become such a catalyst for very valuable boots on ground experience.
