my first shot was taken at a freinds house with a 23 gauge 1 1/2" needle (YES IT WAS A NEW NEEDLE, I DONT SHARE) , i have 23 gauage 1" inch needles at home will the 1" still be fine for glute shots or should i get the 23" 1 1/2 inch my next shot is on thursday but i still got the 23g 1 1/2 needle but i dont want to reuse it cause of sterile and safety first:)

basically the main question is 23 g 1" good for glutes ?

I've heard of people using 1" for glutes, I've only used 1.5" though. I'd think 1" wouldn't be very good incase the needle broke off during injection.

1" is fine as long as you're not fat. 25g sucks to use when theres a lot of volume to be injected.., takes over a minute whereas with a 23g you're done in 10 seconds or so. it's really hard to keep 25g still when you're pushing down on the plunger for over a minute, which IMO will cause more scarring than a 23g that's over quick

I am not certain as to what you are asking. For me, no injection is pleasant, but they do not make me feel weird rather just uncomfortable.

I know what your getting at but for me having it over quickly and not wiggling around for 1+ minute is less painful. I usually go for a 25g but if the compound is thin enough sometimes I'll a 27g and it flexes just enough that a little wiggling doesn't slice me up.

Buts injecting quickly makes the muscle feel like I have a small strain in it. It depends on the muscle group and volume but I usually can't work that muscle group for a day when done quickly.
