shooting the left glute...not fun

how the hell do you guys aspirate when you shoot the left glute??? I could barely get the damn thing in...then once I had it in...I could not aspirate. I finally just said **** it, took a chance, and shot it. Which I hate to do...but the damn thing was already in there...and I didnt feel anything going in. Anyhow...I was holding it steady with my left hand, just couldnt get right hand around enough to aspirate, and my left hand was too unsteady to do it.

lol...anyways, glutes are a bitch...especially that left one. Although I do like how painless they seem, and since Ive been hitting nerves like crazy, its nice to know that its the least likely place to hit a nerve.

I'm getting ready to expirence this as well, and have been looking at coming up with a simple little device that attatches to the pin and allows you to pull, back, and then push on the trigger ....somehow attatching to the end of the syringe and around the finger, or thumb....making a one hand expirence....I almost think you could use some thing like a rubber band or a womans hair wrap.

peace

I just did my second left glute shot today, and I have no problem doing the entire process w/just one hand. You can aspirate w/one hand it's just a little harder. The only hard thing about the left glute for me is actually pushing the plunger. I'm doing 3 ml's in my glutes w/26 gauge pins so it takes forever. My damn hand starts to feel like it's going to cramp, but it's still not bad.

Definately agree w/the glutes being a good spot though. As long as I keep the needle steady I have no pain. My first one I moved the needle around a little to mucha nd was pretty sore, but no probs since.

Here are a few quotes from many of your recent posts (all within the last month):

"Right quad...Bam...hit a nerve...ouch. Try again....another fucking nerve. Third try...needles too dull...hurts and doesnt even puncture the damn skin. So then Im like **** it, delt it is. Left Delt...almost all the way in, BAM...nerve. ****!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally get a good one. and then pull out and all kinds of blood spills out (Aspirated, so its not a vein) Damn, just a shitty fucking day."

"Anyhow, also once I was done injecting I had a hard lump where I injected at"

"Then sunday night comes, and I was in pain. I started to get worried, thought maybe an infection.....But my question is, is it still a possible infection even though its not painful anymore? Or is it maybe just irritated from shooting too much in shallow"

"how long will it take for an abcess to appear? "

------------------------------------------------------------------------

This tells me you obviously aren't doing that great of a job pinning to begin with. I dont think you should risk not aspirating, honestly. And by god, learn to poke yourself properly, i'm on week 14 of my Ed cycle, i've hit a nerve 1 time. How did you manage to do it 3 times during a single injection attempt?

LMAO same problem here, i actually have to stop and rest for likr 5-10 seconds after each cc or so, left hand cramps are killer.

I don't think it's lack of experience when hitting nerves, it's just shitty luck. Maybe there is a chart out there that shows where all the nerves are but that still wouldn't help that much cause there's only a million of them.

Thankyou! lol. Its been a shitty luck kind of month for me all around trust me. not just pinning. plus you may have missed my later post where we were discussing how we werent sure if it was actually hitting nerves, or being so damn nervous about hitting nerves, and "feeling" like you just touched one and prematurely pulled it out. Lol, I never had that problem before hitting my first nerve. But now I go a little slower and it "seems" that I am hitting them more...however it may just be nervousness, and the fact that Im going slower makes every little thing feel like its "about to pin" the nerve.

lol, Please dont insult my intelligence. I know I have bitched and moaned on here a lot lately, but Ive had a very bad month. That doesnt mean Im a moron and dont know how to poke myself. Ive been doing ED for 5 weeks and have just recently been encountering all these damn issues.

And reading over your post again. The abcess and infection posts are me being overly cautious. This was my first cycle,so shooting everyday you start to run into some questions. The abcess was just inquiring since I was using homebrew...Im glad you think Im a moron...Ill stop asking questions just for you :)

please tell me where i called you a moron, or told you to stop asking questions?

I said "learn to poke yourself properly" implying exactly what i said. You need to read something on how to inject properly, maybe then you wouldn't have all the issue's that you are having.

After some experience, you start to learn your 'sweet spots'. For delts for example, I've learned if I go high and to the inside, the chances of hitting a vein or nerve is high. Lower, and center to outside, almost never a problem.

As far as glutes, and delts for that matter, you need to learn how to hold the syringe and aspirate with one hand. It's not hard, just takes some practice. I hold the syringe barrel with the thumb and ring finger. Then place the forefinger and middle finger on either side of the plunger. Just push the pin in. Hold the barrel firmly with the thumb and ring finger, then push back on the plunger with the other two fingers. Its easy. Practice on an orange...

Ya, I can do it with my right...my left is just an issue when its behind me hitting that glute because its so unsteady in that position.

As far as you calling me a moron johnblaze...I was halfway screwing around. Just being fececious (spelling?) However, like I said, Im not sure If Im actually having these problems, or being too damn nervous. Ive actually recently started going a tad faster in again, and not worrying about every little bit of a sensation I feel like before, lol. Anyhow...I think It has more to do with luck and as was said, maybe finding your sweet spots. But as far as "Properly" injecting...theres not much to it. Im a pretty intelligent individual, sticking a damn needle in me isnt the hardest thing. However I have been extra inquisitive...and probably a little too worrysome...just my nature to try and keep it safe I guess...always asking, sometimes prematurely.

Plus its difficult over the internet. You can't see the expression on my face, or see how I am asking questions, so I understand how someone may come across as more clueless then they really are. Anyhow, no biggie. Ill stop being so inquisitve prematurely so as I dont look like the idiot. lol.

i meant more in the sense of stretching the skin, making sure you dont move the needle around once inside. Being sure not to accidently flex the muscle at all.

A lot of time doing your shot directly after a shower helps also. Theres many little tips and tricks that help (including finding sweet spots). Thats what i meant about learning to poke yourself properly.

Gotcha. Well dont worry, I just wanted to clarify and let you know Im not a moron cause I know there is a lot of them out there. Anyways, thanks for the tips.

You have to have enough coordination to aspirate with one hand. Its not that hard. I put my thumb on the top of the syringe, pull with my index finger, while using my other three fingers to support and steady the syringe body. You only need a slight pull to draw a bubble and see whats what.

Thanks...as far as aspirating with one hand, as said before "Ya, I can do it with my right...my left is just an issue when its behind me hitting that glute because its so unsteady in that position."

But thanks. Guess it will just take practice with that left hand.
