Shipping USA to UK - how to avoid customs xharge

Just one for all my uk brothers......to swerve customs charges shipping from the USA into uk you need to ask the sender mark it as a gift and total value under $50. Anything over that attracts a fee.

I’ve had a range of stuff come in recently so found out the hard way lol.

Oops, I marked it gift under <$200 according to USPS priority mail website for international... Hmm, $50 didn't know the line was that low.

Haha, neither did I.... my maresearch stuff came through today no issue and that’s what they’d done hence how I now know lol
 
Yeah I always mark everything I send overseas as worth $25. Works even for sending lead-based electronics products to the EU where they’re banned.

Yeah I normally only ship in the eu but I guess we need to get to these customs tricks for when we crash out the eu and trade on WTO terms......oh ducking joy
