Shipping/Customs charges

hey i ordered last week and it arrived today. however i have been ordering from you guys over the past year and half now and dont get charged with customs fees. The shipping to Canada is pretty steep as it is, and today i had to pay an extra 38 bucks ontop of the 25 $ shipping fee. It comes close to the actual cost of the protein. Why is there a customs fee now, and not before.
 
Was it opened and inspected? Last time I got that fee I was told it was because it was inspected.
 
I'm not sure what it is....I think if you request in the comments of your order that we put "This is a gift." on the package it may be treated as such instead of a purchase which may be subject to fees....not sure about that either but I know I saw it somewhere....I'll try to get more info for you.
 
I think it is just UPS that usually charges a large fee on items. I'll see whathappens to me when I place my order.
 
I came home from work today and my brother told me he declined the order because a) he didn't know what it was and b) they wanted 30+ friggin bucks. He just told me this now I gotta run my ass to an ATM at 2am in the morning to be sure that he has dough to pay for the pickup. This is bad. Totally kills the deal. Please do something about this guys or else I am gonna be forced to start buying from somewhere else...
 
On closer thought: Do I have an option to have my order returned and cancelled?

I bought 60 dollars of Protein and they want to charge me around 38 bucks in fees. I really can't afford to take that hit.
