Self administered TRT

Hi all, need some help/advice regarding TRT.

One of balls didn’t drop as a baby and had to be surgically moved (scars to prove).

I know this can be a cause of primary Hypogonadism and my balls are small.

I’ve had a test and was told everything was within normal range but LH was high (guessing the pituitary gland is kicking out more LH to bring me up to baseline) but I feel the effects of low T, low muscle mass etc

I’ll post my test results up later,

Basically wanting to know if I should just try self administered TRT and see how I go

Test results

Albumin 42.7 gl
FSH 10.4 iu
LH 9.9 iu
Oestradiol 64 pmol
Test 21.50 nmol
Shbg 49 nmol
Free t 0.365 nmol
Prolactin 349 mu
TSH 3.74 miu
Free t4 18 pmol
PSA 0.6

Can you post the nornal ranges? Especially for the Test.
Ranges can be different, depending upon the particular test.

And I don't see a reason why you need to go through a doctor for TRT. As long as you do blood work and know how to interpret the results you are in just as good as if you were spending the extra time and money to go through a doc.

The only benefit I cn see is if you have good insurance and you pay next to nothing for your bloodwork and testosterone. In my case I pay $6 a month for my self administered TRT.

Yeah of course

Albumin 42.7 (35-52)
FSH 10.4. (1.5-12.4)
LH 9.9 (1.7-8.6)
Oestradiol 64 (41-159)
Test 21.40 (8.64-29)
Shbg 49 (18.3-54.1)
Free t 0.3. (0.2-0.6)
Prolactin 349. (86-324)

I’m in the UK and TRT is not the greatest over here, I’m going to do another test after Christmas before I start a cycle of low dose test and Tbol.

But just looking at my numbers even though the doc said test wasn’t a problem, it’s only borderline average, my free t is on the low side shbg is on the high side, prolactin and LH is very high, clearly my small balls aren’t picking up the message well hence the increase in LH production,

I’m just wondering do I at least try a low dose test cycle something not too drastic see how I am get bloods done and monitor and take LH and take my balls out of the equation

Honestly I see no need for trt with those numbers, I would try to get free T a little higher and I would look for another cause for your problem because it's not test related from what I just read in your labs

You could definitely increase your test by training with your numbers. Lifting will stimulate more testosterone production itself, like others have said you're pretty solid.

If you have serious lack of libido, tired all the time, no interest in doing anything (lack of energy) then test is probably the cause but in your case I don't see why you would need it.

The lack of being able to build muscle is an issue but that wasn’t the reason alone for the blood work,

Libido can be great other times it’s none existent, performance is generally poor, energy poor, size of size of testicles is an issue probably a cosmetic issue more then anything, these were all reasons for having a blood test.

What would you suggest for increasing free t and lowering shbg

Train heavy for a few months, eat red meat (foods high in iron), these will increase your free test levels. You could also take some boron.

Boron 5-10mg daily will also help decrease your shbg levels as well

There's plenty of things you should try as said above. Steroids is not one of them. Fix the problem, get in better shape, then somewhere down the road look into a cycle

Have you calculated your tdee??? If you haven't already you should go and do that, figure out how many cals you're burning daily (with exercise) and add 500 calories of protein to build muscle.

If youre a hardgainer you can possibly add more but this is a good start

Labs dont look bad and they generally dont lie.

How long have you been training?
Age?
Weight height bf%?
Diet?
Sleeping well?
Any daily meds that might effect your situation like antidepressants?

Im gonna agree with other users here and say that test doesnt sound like the issue with those numbers

I’d say a couple of years training in total, I say that because I had a really go some years ago, then we bought a house, needed renovating, baby came along, started my own business so haven’t trained for awhile but I’ve really got the bug again now,

Age 28
Height 5’11
Weight 77kg
BF 17% ish nice and skinny but a real good guy and handles, dreaded skinny fat
Diet is fairly good I’m not perfect but I hit my numbers on quite a regular basis
Sleep I’ve never had a good night for years even more so with the daughter here
No meds but I’m experimenting with 5htp for some depression/anxiety issues

I agree with this OP. At least not self administered TRT. If a TRT doc thought you needed it then by all means. Also keep in mind that taking steroids will make your lone testicle even smaller and probably very quickly. From my personal experience, Prolactin and SHBG can have a huge affect on my libido. Those can be modulated pretty easily through natural supplementation.

Thanks for your reply,

I’ve got my spuds I think one hadn’t dropped but both are there after minor surgery as a baby, they just aren’t working efficiently should we say,

What supplements would help? Are we talking natural test boosters? I’ve tried having a look but most say eat healthy etc etc, is there anything specific for getting these under control?

Google:
How to lower prolactin
How to lower sex hormone binding globulin
How to increase free testosterone

You will find plenty of articles describing dozens of different ways to do those things. Start at the beginning with diet. Then pick a few of the supplements to add to modulate those hormones. Key players will be Vitamin B-6, Zinc, etc. Medications can cause some of the issues you’re having as well so examine that angle as well.

Your total test is a relatively good number where it’s at, so I don’t think trt is the answer like already mentioned by others. I would lower your shbg and prolactin; I think that would be the best route to go. Lowering the shbg will create better free test, and lowering prolactin will make the testosterone in your system more noticeable as prolactin suppresses it’s effects.
