Sean's Powerlifting Journey

Secondary Squat/Primary Pull
515x4x3 Beltless and Paused-ish
565x3x3

This is my last major training day of the block. Deload next week. I'm in need of it. Squat is starting to break down.

Bro squatting in jeans is equipped - literally denim suit bottoms! If they don't blowout in the hole you will definitely get some nice support.

You're meeting the bar really well almost all the time on bench, but some reps your elbows look like they might be flaring early. Also, if you lose your scap setup mid set I wouldn't be afraid to rack it quick and fix them to finish the set. Especially considering your shoulder history.

I can't believe how well you're getting into position on your pulls. Almost all of those had a pretty fantastic wedge. You got them magic hips Sean. Mobile and powerful AF.

Close Grip 275x3 followed with 225x4x6. The rest of the session was high rep (15+) assistance work. I'll most likely keep my secondary bench day assistance like this until the meet. It may not be "specific" to the lift, but I honestly feel like doing 15-20 rep delt raises, rows, and arms have helped my shoulders. I'd prefer health over specificity.

I'm deloading this week. Probably won't bother posting. I'll begin my peak Sunday evening.

Decided to train my bench an extra day as I don't think it needs as long to deload as my other lifts do.

PR of 285x3. Hit 285x2 before it, failing the third. I loose positioning on my third rep almost every set.

Still alive. I'll be having some more time in my life here so I'll begin to be more active again.

This has been the worst peak I've ever had. I've missed a squat every single week, missed a bench, and missed a deadlift.

Looking back, I may have peaked early, at the end of my final strength block. Then probably lost a bit of weight during the deload. The first week of the peak I was sick the entire week. Ended up just hammering myself into the ground. Lost appetite and motivation, all my lifts grinded, I lost 10lbs of bodyweight.

Final squat session, I dinged the safety pins going down. I made up for it and was able to hit my opening deadlift with a hook grip and second attempt bench.

I've finally had some life, appetite, and motivation creeping back into me within the last couple of days so hopefully I can perform not as poorly as I began to anticipate. However, I don't believe I'll perform as well as I had intended going into this. I had a lot of momentum going and it all just dumped. I'll still be giving it my all, though.

Meet is the 15th. I won't have much to post until then but I'll keep you all updated. If there's a live YouTube feed of the meet, I'll post it here. I've been seeing that with USAPL meets around here recently.

Happy belated Christmas & New Years. I'll be catching back up here again.

Hell ya. Go get that shît sean.

Lost a lot of weight and had a poor peak so I performed how I thought I would. Not upset. It was expected.

606/275/584

Missed my last squat.

Took 275 twice. The first time I ended up holding it out for a minute straight before I got a start command because they didn't like how my feet were.

My thumbs were raw on my deadlift opener. Took it a second time over/under. Then I put on tape an hook gripped it for my third attempt and blasted it.

Goal now is to just get in shape and yoked.

Jacked and tan! Nice job today Sean.

Had a bad start to post-meet training. Sick, norovirus, snowstorms, taking care of my two kids by myself for a few months, pre-employment investigations. Just hectic.

Following Knuckols average to savage program. Getting the main sets in and doing what I can after. Squats and bench are boring but it's good work. The deadlift rep maxes are fun.

555x8 touch n go. Yes touch n go. I don't care.

Miss you, fukcers.

1,000lb tandem deadlift before my squat session (430x10, 395x10, 365x12)

Awesome but that must of sucked for that other guy, because once you pull one side higher, the weight shifts and puts more stress on lower side lololol makes me want to get more srs about my deadlifts

635 sumo

Just working on being jacked and tan the next month or so now. Will be moving to Louisiana end of May/June.

That looked tough...

And moving to Louisiana?! That'll be a bit of a change from the northeast...

A good chance. I'm not from up here and hate it lol

Lol. Well then good news for you man! Ill be up in New Hampshire next week for a PA interview. Flying into Manchester on Thursday.

Houston was #3 on my wife's transfer list for when she graduates OCS. For some reason, the top 4 picks were dropped from the overall list so NOLA ended up being number 2 lol
I mean, Houston blows too, but it's better than NOLA. We'll have to see if there are any RPS meets that are relatively close to both of us. Hell, if they have one in Houston I've got a spare room. Just gotta be dog friendly lol.

Haha I'm cool with dogs. And fortunately we found a nice town (so I've heard) outside the city. Unfortunately, we will both work in the city lol

Where do you guys live again?

He lives in central IL. Im in NW indiana. We were thinking of finding a meet somewhere between central IL and STL. Bit of a hike for you guys.
