Sean's Powerlifting Journey

Not much busy as hell. Finally on leave for the first time in almost a year. Whats new in powerlifting?

Looked like steady and strong movement to me. Congratulations on the PR!

A PalmFist post?!! Miss you brother! Hope all is well!!

Anyone ever use Evomuse Dryuretics (sp?)? I have a bottle that came with Myosynergy. Contemplating using it for the water cut.

Gratz on the new addition homeboi. Yeah used it last week for the meet. Started it too late. Took a dose Tues evening, Wed morning Wed evening and Thurs Morning. Kidney was aching starting Thurs evening (last food and water was 9:30am Thurs) and became steadily worse through the evening (sleep was awful/broken and had to stay very still to keep the pain at bay) and it took about 12 hours after first drink of Gatorade @ 9:30am on Friday.

Another guy at the weighins said he had kidney pain too and he'd used a Dandelion product as well to shed water for the first time as well so just a heads up if you go that route. I'd use it the full 5 days as prescribed next time and try to start getting any subq water off sooner.

May have to switch back to the Titan wraps. The Overkills keep tearing and the stopping power is too much.

Unilateral Leg Press
A lot

GHR
3x10

705 felt good on the back. Not wobbly and it wasn't suffocating. Let's hope I don't bomb out this meet lol

he said they're good but I heard them tearing as I went down. I did the same amount of wraps as I do with Titans and ended up with an extra 6" at the end, whereas the Titans are an extra 2" leftover

I'll bury my openers next week and start stretching again

I think i would have to press the issue then doesn't seem right to me

You'll do great

Looks i wont be getting overkill wrap anytime soon. Thanks for the review.

705 is really on the table here big dawg. Too high of course but you look very composed w/ 705 on your back and the speed on everything is great. You can do this.

BW is 222. Catching up on some sleep and calories finally. Busy around the house so I have a buncha threads to catch up on.

I realized I've been taking too wide of a stance in the monolift, which was my issue last meet. We'll see if I can fix my shît on Monday.

Bench felt good.

Looked like the first one was last warm up...granted I don't know how much the 2 board does in making it easier for you.

Smooth benching regardless

Thanks man. I'm wanting 9/9 and all small meet PRs on second attempts so I'm okay with easy. Even though it felt heavier than it looked lol

2nd attempt deadlifts on Friday. Some upper body pump stuff on Saturday as an excuse to eat pizza.

Taper off next week and hit openers only and any prehab/rehab I need to do. Deload the week of. Deload plan is just fluff work. Most likely just activation stuff.

Looks good! 275 will be a good opener after some very heavy squats. 315-320 will be a good third on meet day judging by that 305 off a two board. Always hard transitioning from rack to mono.

Has anyone ever read over Clint Darden's Westside/531 template? He has 6 weeks laid out. May give it a go for a change (replacing box squat with free squat) Board heights lower, speed days increase and add in the slingshot. Every other week the squat varies from speed w/ chain one week, and 531 sets the next.Invalid Link Removed

Felt alright. Funky ******* on 545. Not happy I had to use straps this close to the meet but I refuse to get a hole in my hand 2 weeks out, like every other meet.

I need to eat, sleep, and stretch. None of these things are happening lol Blah blah blah cry cry

No time for that stretch, dmax

I just sit on a low box with a doubled mini below the knee cap and open my legs up like a slut and contract hard. I'll switch between that and the side steps, holding the band as an X.

All I'm saying is if 10/20/Life is working.....might be worth hanging on a little longer.

I agree but I just want a 6 week mental change of pace. I've always wanted to do Conjugate/Westside type training and Darden's is the only template that makes sense to me for a raw lifter, as the Lower days are slightly different.

There's no strongman comps in the area and I can't find for the life of me Mas wrestling lol

I briefly contemplated the Reactive Pump Program but eh...

I'll definetly go back to 1020L. I've never been on a training program as long as I have this one. I might change up the deload weeks though.

Almost lost me as soon as I saw t-nation lol
This is a similar to what I've been trying to do with all my lifts. It does have the desired effect

It's all about who writes the articles, not so much the site it's on. If BB.com offers you $$$, you'd be stupid not to write them an article.

Awesome sumos Sean! It's amazing to watch!

You'll quickly realize any RC weakness. I could only get a couple wobbly wonky reps at first.

Do the bottoms up walk too as a weighted carry. Forgot to write that one out.

Just saw Duffin's vid on the hip airplane for the first time. His daughter is reppin' like an OG in the background w/ that pink sun bonnet.
