Sean's Powerlifting Journey

-Beastie ball mash calves/ITB (brutal)/abductor/hamstring/glute medius/TFL/thoracic/pec minor
-Foam roll ITB/Quad/Abductor
-Psoas gut mash
-Hip opener stretch
-Internal hip rotation
-Myofacial psoas stretch
-Elite FTS banded hip series

Took about 30 minutes.

Boring.

Tomorrow will be a new squat attempt. Have about 3,000 calories in me now and will probably kill another 1,500-2,000 before bed. Unknown what I'll work up to. That'll depend on how ~600 rides.

Do work!

mmmm sloppy joe's

now, coldstone

I went in worried about how 600 would feel and ended up hitting 650. Depth was called by 2 people as good, but barely below parallel. Video or pic doesn't do it justice. I'm really not that worried about it. 635 felt good. 650 almost turned into a grind out of the hole but shot up once I controlled my knee track. Goal for October 12th is 675. I weighed in at 222. Videos will be up later.

They looked smooth man. Awesome stuff. 675 should be a good number to shoot for at the meet based on this and some more training. ;)

How'd you like the wraps?

Thanks bud. Those wraps are pretty awesome. Slightly harder to wrap than the Gripper's or Blue Arrows, but it's the same type or stretch, but these lock in even harder. They threw me off a tad, but there's no regrets buying them.

This 650 felt lighter on the back than the 650 in April. No stars were seen, no headache, and doesn't feel like sand is pouring down my spine lol

@everyone, thanks!

awesome squatzz man, congrats on the huge PR.. moving weight, like pro lifter weight at this point. cant wait to see the vid.

650 actually looked deeper than the 635, congrats.

I can't thank your post for some reason. Congrats.

Damn big man! You are lifting in some record territory. Then throw the natty status into the equation and you get mad respect.

Thanks a lot AZ. It's pretty cool to be listed with Chris Duffin and Dan Green on PLwatch (even if they squat 200# more lol) Breaking the drug tested record next April is the goal.

I'm taking every natty supplement under the sun, though.

Your son still competing?

Speed is crazy good. Watch the knees coming in though.

My son has put competing on hold right now until he graduates next semester. Still training but doing more volume instead.

Did anyone see the Email about training at Elite with the guys for $150 in August? That sounds like fun.

Nice I should have some of those wraps soon so I was just wondering. :o

Squatting looked solid though and now I am pumped to Squat tomorrow. :p

Thanks guys. I agree on the knees. Wasn't a very fluid squat. I felt the knees come in a touch and I threw them back out. Otherwise, I think it would have been more of a grind.

So cheap! I think it's usually $400.

That's awesome! Where are you ranked on PLwatch?

Hate you.

And by hate you I mean mad props. You don't get extra points for getting deeper at the meet afterall, & this was a very serious squat. If you hung out with your hams on calves for a tea party down there it would just mean you weren't lifting your full potential for a parallel comp squat. Looks good to me!

Btw got my suit slippers in today & brought home some work gloves & got into the hardcore suit tonight at home to feel it out - holy cow is it tight around the thigh! Everything else is actually really comfy; could wear it all day if the thigh trim didn't hurt so bad (and if I could sit down lol). Took less than 10 min, & that was figuring it all out. Bet I can get it down to 5 min next time w/ these titan slippers.

PMs are full so might as well ask it here.

What's the best brand and place for a belt? Thinking of going with a 4" wide and either 10mm or 13mm thick lever belt from Inzer or Titan but wanted to get some more opinions

I love my Titan Longhorn Lever. Just sayin'. Best lifting-related investment I ever made. Spring for a lever - so nice to have it tight then loose at the flick of the lever.

Most won't need a 13mm belt and 10mm is usually enough. I throw my vote in for Inzer, but don't order through them. They have awful customer service.

That's all I've read is they're hit or miss at best - gotta go through a retailer. They're cheaper than Titan if you don't mind the Chinese bit (I love that Titan's US-based, but my Chucks are still Chinese so this isn't a new concept), & the Inzer lever I've used a few times from a buddy seemed like good stuff for sure.

Sht didn't even see the last page and your 650 squat. Unreal speed man! Awesome

Love my inzer 10 mm. Single prong.
