Sean's Powerlifting Journey

It's terrible when it's happening and great when it's done. I've felt adhesions and very tender spots on my shoulder that I could never mash, and now it feels like a normal smooth muscle.

Sounds rough...if any if my issues get worse I may look for someone in the area. My chiro doesn't do it. Good stuff Sean

Getting Graston on my traps was one of the most painful things I have ever experienced. But worth it. I am confident you will dins the same with this modality.

Yup pretty much. Had it done on my neck, traps, bis, tris, shoulders, scap, and forearms along with the hip. I still have all the red blotches everywhere.

**** it, I'm lifting. Upper.

And because I'm bored...

Notes:

-Don't bust your chin with the Swiss Bar
-It's incredible for triceps. They look ginormous right now. That dead stop killed me.
-It rocked my forearms for curls
-I'm buying the micro miniband. Perfect tension for external rotations (for my weak ass shoulders at least)
-I had no more than a 2 second rest during the 100 reppers. Dunno why I even did it. **** it.
-Retraction on Facepulls feel...better
-I also did a buncha cable crunches

As for supps:
Taking all the CL staples. If you guys want a stim-free prewo (Agmatine, Betaine, Norvaline), there's a logging opp if you're interested. Will be picking this week. I'm taking Nerve Restore. I think it's helped my left hip flexor, left rear delt, and a pinched nerve in my neck for quite sometime. Since my AC has been jacked, my left rear delt literally doesn't feel like it was being used/firing whatsoever when doing rear delt movements, even rear delt destroyers. Now, I feel it. I'm on my second bottle of the new Anabeta. I still love it. I'll be throwing in Alphamine in the mix soon to help curb hunger from Anabeta and CBL, and because I have to make weight for the meet, and for work.

CBL:
I love it. I feel better throughout the day. Workouts are unaffected by it. I'm getting leaner and maintaining weight and I have better self control due to me "sticking to something for once"

I might try reverse grip bench press.

I'm gonna order a pizza.

Wish I had a Swiss bar to work with.. Those dead stop tricep ext sound fun, could probably figure a way to do em with a different bar.

I like it a lot, except for flat pressing :D I still need to use it on incline.

You can do the tri ext with a normal barbell or EZ curl bar, it just won't be neutral or triangle gripped like that, obviously.

I think im gonna have to try that nerve restore. One question on it; does the effects stay after you quit taking it?

Poutine. Grab some ground beef and peppered turkey bacon too and mix them all together.

Edit: There's spicy jalapeño chicken sausage mixed in there too.

The spicy jalapeño chicken sausage is great, the waffles and pancakes are $2 a box, and I'd grab some Cookie Butter too. There's a ton of good frozen foods that I haven't looked at recently because of prep, but they seem to add new stuff every week. I basically buy all of my food there, except Cream of Rice.

Thanks for that, Breezy. I picked up some meat, teriyaki and general tsao sauce, peppered turkey bacon and the jalapeño and garlic chicken sausage. As for frozen stuff, I got beef burritos, chicken fried rice, and the orange chicken. I'll let ya know how those are.

Didn't realize there's one in Burlington right off the highway.

No problem, Sean. Nice, I think I remember the chicken fried rice being good and have wanted to give that orange chicken a shot.

Me neither. I'm never really in that area.

Nice work, Sean.

BSS weights are per hand, I imagine?

Yessir. I've used 80's before but my balance was pretty bad today.
Probably exhaustion. Also probably a sign you pushed yourself properly, though I think your SGDL was evidence enough already.

Good point, and thank you. My workouts at work are low key lately. No energy/motivation.
May be something to work on after the meet.

Is this just stagnation, or are there extrinsic factors influencing this, like job stress, at home stress, etc?

Hm I'd say exhaustion (though it's not physically demanding every day) End of the day and after dinner, I'd rather chill out sometimes. That, and it just sucks lifting here. However, we do have a real power rack on order, so being able to safely squat here will be a huge plus for motivation.

Do it! They're worth it. Especially since your hips have given you issues.

Sucks about the lack of motivation man. But that new power rack would definitely lift some spirits up . But yea maybe my new shoes might help me balance now too. Unilateral work is a weak point for me so I definitely need to put more work on it.

Eh, it's just when I'm on duty. I try to shift all my sessions on my off days anyways.

I hate uni leg work. It sucks ass!!

Holy fck. I have the hardest time just with my bw balancing. Might have to incorporate this tomorrow though. Good stuff Sean!
Doing it weighted might actually help. I had a really hard time doing them when I first started, too. I began with 1 dumbbell for loading and for balance (1 dumbbell as opposed to two might be easier for balance), and after I worked up to about 65lbs I started using DBs for both hands and moved on from there.

Thanks bud. Might try that one Db first. And work my way up. But do you hold it as if you were doing goblets?

No, I just let my arm hang from my shoulder.

If you're a boss, you can do it while holding a barbell like a front squat!

I think this is the easiest way to balance, and the hardest way to perform. I need to get my unilateral on. Need to get mobile so I can sneak my stance out a scooch.

Everyone could benefit from more mobility. Sean over here is as mobile as they get though haha. but then again, i can only blame myself because I often half asss mobility work.

Definetly not as mobile as they come lol I just have to keep up with it so I can perform somewhat comfortably lol The ****s that can go into the gym pain free, can kiss my ass

But hey. We were all once pain free knuckle heads who wanted to be where we're at now or better. We just have to pay the toll sometimes

Posting in errbodys logs makes me want to go train damn it. This wait is fûcking killing me.
