I would say depends u don't want to lose so much your leverages change and u step on the platform and everything feels off could screw up your chances for another great total Edit: if we're only talking a little over 20lbs then I say go for it
You shouldn't have any issues Sean especially if you keep cals at maintenance. I've never had any strength issues with keto. I'd seriously look into epharm's new supp though. It will make things much easier.
I'm not really looking at it for weight loss specifically. More so for a better body composition. I'll never eat below maintenance.
Herder, When u did carb nites did u shoot for a specific caloric amount? Or did u follow how it's setup in the book where u eat when your hungry and enough to satisfy u?
I don't think Carb night is going to change your body composition without a calorie deficit. And ketosis is awful, feelsbadman.
When I was doing CBL in the Fall, I dropped weight almost too quickly while eating junk almost each night. I didn't track calories stringently, but there couldn't have been much of a deficit considering the amount of Thai food and candy I was eating.
I'm talking Carb Backloading, so I'll be eating carbs every night, whatever meets my macros, after the first 10 days. What's Carb Nite then?
Wasn't carb night the second book? Pretty similar, I think I have both though... My buddy ran carb night, lost 12lbs unintentionally eating a tub of ice cream and pizza every night bc his calories weren't there. Got weak, lol.
Well ****. This seemed easy to me. Eat your carbs every day still, just at night. Fat and protein during the day. Now I gotta read carb nite so I know what everyone is talking about lol
Carb Nite is a once a week refeed.
Just saw it on Scribd. I'm definetly NOT going to do that.

The closest I've ever done to something like this was strict Paleo and it was a rough transition period.

Oops. Sent Ebook before I saw your response. My bad.
So excluding the details in the book, is my basic understanding of CBL accurate? Is it even worth it? The book and forums makes it sound amazing. "Delivers significant increases in strength, moderate to low mass gain, and massive fat loss"
I'm back on CBL right now. I find it to be extremely enjoyable as I'm a fat kid at heart and love to eat junk. Breakfast is bacon and eggs, then a protein shake with almonds, followed by chicken thighs and broccoli. While I'm geared, I'll sip on BCAAs while training. My post training starts with BCAA and Karbolyn followed by a protein shake and Pop Tarts. Dinner varies and I always include dessert. It usually ends up around 300-350g of carbs at the end of the day.
I like this. The food I'm served at work is high fat anyways, and always a protein source, and a salad bar. Bacon and sausages in the mornings. I'll just skip out on whatever carb source they have and eat it at night and anything else I can get my hands on. I'll make use of coconut oil/leucine/BCAA/EAA's ect I'm just not looking forward to these first 10 days.
Disagree. Trying to enter into ketosis is bad, but being there is great. And ketosis is awful, feelsbadman.
CBL doesn't have that transition period. Well, I think it technically does, but I didn't bother with it.
Ketosis doesn't feel bad. Getting into ketosis is rough. Once the metabolic switch has been made though, it's not bad at all.
It says if you're following the Density Bulk protocol or already sub 10% BF, you don't need to. I'm neither. I guess I don't understand why I would need to reach ketosis if I'm just going to end up eating carbs every day. I'll avoid it if I can lol Maybe I'll skip that now lol
I think it's more of a kick start for insulin sensitivity and to store glycogen more efficiently.
You're body will eventually get there without it. It will just take longer. I don't think you'll find it necessary.
Sounds good to me. I've got some GDAs I can dabble with too.
I forgot to mention that I used 200mg of NaRALA prior to bed to make sure to bring blood glucose levels down while sleeping. My last carb meal is generally 2-3 hours prior to bed.

How long did you remain in ketosis? What were your calories like?
Was a while ago, like 3000k cals, for 3 weeks. 15-25g carbs per day I think.
At what weight?
Didn't go long enough. Another week or two and you would have totally stabilized and felt normal again.
Well, getting calories without carbs is harder than I thought. I guess I'll eat a couple rotisserie chickens.
Ribeyes. When I'm doing keto or low carb, I eat fatty steak like ribeye. Also cheese & summer sausage are good ones too.
I like sausage
I might have some bad news...K good. I had peanut butter. I love nuts.
Meal 1: Bacon, breakfast sausage, Quest bar
Meal 2: Protein blend + 2 tbsp peanut butter
About to hit the gym with my intra blend.
