Sean's Powerlifting Journey

Sweet 6 lbs 8 oz baby Jesus. Nice SLDLs. I'm kind of a squat guy myself (**** deadlifts), but I have to say that those are some impressive pulls.

Thanks man. I too, prefer squats. My bench hasn't gone anywhere and my deadlifts are very slowly creeping up to my squat..maybe..we'll see lol

At least your bench isn't going down, which is great considering you're really keeping a close eye on those shoulders of yours.

Lots of scap work the past few days and prewo with the double lacrosse ball along with shoulder bullyin. Left shoulder still bugs a bit but wasn't irritated at all this session. My bench press flew up today. Granted the 315 was with the bench strap, I felt like I had 3 more in me and they were smooth lockouts. Much smoother than other days.

How do you like those DB floor presses? I've never done them.

They're good, especially since I'm wanting to avoid my elbows going too far back. I know Toro is an advocate of them. A few reps I squeezed out neutral grip and it felt fine. I brought my elbows out and just kept it a slower controlled movement to help build some shoulder stability. Felt good, easy on the shoulders, and has a nice chest pump.

Meh, I didn't see nothing. Nice press. It still amazes me how your fat ass gets such a great arch... :sgrin:

Thanks, brother. My ass puts those ghetto girls to shame.

And it's actually pretty damn easy for me to arch since I started setting up like that. It's all pain free. When I setup before with my feet on the bench first, it killed my fùcking lumbar.

I did run strong two light bands across the bench for grip. I swear to god the bench pad at my gym feels like it's waxed smooth. Any other camp bench I have been on, was much nicer.

Bench looked good to me, too.

Sean, what was the effort level on that sucker? Did it feel like a feather? I know sometimes things move fast but feel heavy, I'm just trying to get a sense of where you're at. Honestly, it looked like speed work.

Thank you gents.

It was maybe RPE 7-8, Dude. 270 was my %95 of my T1RM but we both agreed that 275 looked better on the bar.

It might be good to live like a Viking in spurts. I base this off of nothing lol. You gun get shredded bra :D

haha well it was easy/fun plowing food. Though the more I get used to eating 4500 cals, it gets easier to turn into 5000 and then 5500 and so on. Im just gonna control things now

Interesting. I seem to have the opposite effect where the longer I eat a lot of food, the less hungry I start becoming.

I'm like that at first but once my body gets used to it, it just wants more. Plus, I've been having a pretty decent expenditure so in no way will I be reducing calories. I will just play with the carbs a bit.

This is me to a T.
Yeah, I find the only way to maintain the hunger is to eat a lot of sugary foods. Obviously not too great for health.

playing a game of catch-up in here!

With the calories, after my trip in Sept. I stopped counting (was holding around 2500-3k). Gained @15lbs since then, but look a heck of a lot better in the mirror & lifts keep moving up. Definitely need to feed the machine!

Always great a log & I learn a ton from Sean & you guys - thanks!

Yes! Feed the machine!

I am probably around 3200 right now...need to bump it up again though. :D

I get paranoid with my cals. I do good for a while around 3,000+, lifting big, but I always end up cutting back to keep the body fat down. Can't help it, I like seeing my abs

Dang, no wonder you puked. Nice PRs. 3 in a row -- clearly you are not trying hard enough, lol.

While you're resting now, clear your PMs, Spanky. Responded via email, homey.

It's been 3 days, I am going to the gym, dammit, before it becomes 4 days ...

Damnnnn. Now that is how you workout. Looks absolutely brutal.

Vid?
