Sean's Powerlifting Journey

Those titties look like they are coming along for the joy ride, along with your ass and thighs, big boy. Good benching.

Ass, thighs, AND titties? WoOOooo doggie. Where's the gape?

Thanks brother. Gotta get those chesticles.

So, my shoulders feel very well overall, except the one that feels restricted/blocked at the top. It doesn't hurt though. My spotter noticed that the arm doesn't seem fully locked when I'm set up on bench. It also happens to be the one with my crooked collar bone.

I'm a ghetto booty ho

As a black GF used to call me, "high water booty," lol. But that was then, this is now ... So we will need to fixate on your HWB, with that gaping hole, lol.

Happy Turkey Day, Sean!

Sean, how do you like the cube? once I get my squat to point where it is a trained lift I am going to give it a shot. Probably around Feb. Also, how do you like it and did you set up your own waves?

I like it. I ran it last year leading up to my first meet and put 25lbs on my squat and 10lbs on my deadlift in 9 weeks, and I was even more rookie then. I did the advanced 5/3/1 template leading into my last meet but it's boring. I never fully used Conjugate how the first Cube was. I saw the newer version and liked it a lot better.

I don't use his assistance template (lat pulls and lateral raises?), but I do follow the primary movement. First lift will be the competition lift/grip/stance. Then you'll increase 5% from a different range of motion to overload (block pull/close grip/olympic or front squat) for 2 sets, then you'll underload 5% under what the competition lift was, with another ROM (deficit/1" pause press/pause squat)

That's why you'll see my bench day shift from competition, to close grip, to pause press. I do like the ME/DE/RE rotation of the movements as well. Start with 95% for your training 1RM.

I'll switch it up some though. Friday I'll do my 85% squat, pause squat 90%, and front squat whatever, then a hamstring exercise. I try to hit back movements on Deads, Bench, and the 'Body' Day.

9 weeks, week 10 would be meet week. I don't have a meet coming up so I'll max out a 2RM on Mon/Thurs/Sun, deload, and start over again.

and I'll add bands/chains as an overload movement when I'm bored, and I'll reverse band squat on occassion.

To keep it even more simple though, Brandon Lilly says:

Heavy days: Work up to a heavy double or triple, don't miss reps:
Explosive days: Light, explosive work
Rep days: 5-8 reps

Sean

Yeah they're good, especially on sale. Were you thinking of buying the pack or just certain pairs? The reds and oranges make the most use, I use the grey for mobility/reverse band squats, and the blues I'll use for some mobility stuff

Not sure what wraps I have. They're black and white thin striped, 80cm

You too, bud.

I was thinking pack u get 6 or 8 all together seemed like a good deal covers all the bases or u think I should pick and choose?

Depends on your finances really haha I saved up and bought the pack. Just take care of them. One little knick and they start to tear. And make sure you don't order the short bands lol they're like 12" long

That band back should have you covered for pretty much anything you need. Maybe toss in some of the red short bands (they are like 1.50 a piece lol) as well. I love them for banded deadlifts, bench, and I use them for various other exercises (around knees for glute walks, spider wall crawls, etc).

Short bands for deads and bench. Long bands for squats. Probably won't need above a mini or monster mini for banded work. If you plan on doing reverse band work, then get the light, long bands.

You squatting sum bish. Happy thanksgiving

In the context of this thread, you are hereby denominated "SmokerPole." Have a happy T-day, young man.

RPS Valentine Massacre meet, February 1st, in CT that I might sign up for. I won't be cutting weight, and will do morning-of weighin, so the 2.5 drive will be no biggie the day of. There won't be any "untested" class either, which is cool.

Goal: PR's and keep my name on their squat record. Still contemplating..

Anyone ever create their own caps?

Check the subforum in supplement companies. Seems like some people had trouble with them. Looks cool, and they are a sponsor, but I don't like the risk haha.

What are you looking to get made Sean? I guarantee I could probably find it cheaper already capped individually...

Yeah I was thinking that. Especially with NP and SNS bulk lines always having sales.

I wasn't thinking anything specific really. I heard of capping your own stuff, but hadn't heard of a company doing it for you so I was curious if anyone has done it.

I remember capping bulk Cissus and Beta Alanine, worst thing ever, such pain.

Went through Cressy's Asses and Correct. Hit up some thoracic mobility and hard/painful lax mashing around the scapula. Shoulder is much better from it surprisingly.

Bought Paragon and Recompadrol through the sale. Will buy Alphamine and Protein through the PES Insider.

Now I'm devouring turkey.

Happy thanksgiving

Alphamine insider isn't for a while, I would get the black friday sale if I were you.

There's no rush for Alphamine so that's why I was gonna wait. Never tried Paragon so I grabbed the BOGO. I'll probably place another order this weekend after I get Xmas shopping figured out.

I liked Paragon. I ran it along with AdvancedPCT by Athletic Xtreme and the wifey was having to constantly check her 6... Lol

lol awesome

Figured it wouldn't it wouldn't hurt for $16/bottle. Running some Forskolin now. Have 2 bottles left.

Got Achiles. Anyone tried it?

Didn't get much from Achilles myself but then not much does help with the old man aches these days. Lol

I liked it when I used it...may try again to really test around. So hard to be accurate with joint products outside stuff like topicals for instant relief.

Antaeus Labs makes good sh*t. Achilles is a solid product that will alleviate pain related to normal wear and tear but when you have no cartilage left not much outside of injects will help. Keep in mind that joint supports are somewhat akin to PHs, they may take a couple weeks to fully kick in

Cube-Heavy Squats-Week 6

Warmup
Lax mash/foam roll
Thoracic mobility drills
KStarr Super squat hip opener
Lateral hip distraction w/ strong band
Groin stretch
Hip flexor mobilization

Squat (Set x Rep)
135x10
225x5
315x5
405x2
485x3x2 Working set
515x1x2 Second pause
515x1x3 Second pause

Front Squat
315x3x5

Romanian Deadlift
225x3x15

Kinda rushed the rest of my workout after the squats. I still feel incredible though. Despite crap squat conditions at work (softish floor, no safety devices, poor rack to unrack in) the weights all felt light.

The cissus is very under-dosed, their max recommended dose is only 1.5g.
