Sean's Powerlifting Journey

Ouch. Retail, been there done that. One of the biggest problems I have with many otc supps is the lack of real research either supporting a products claim or/and the lack of research done on drug interactions. Take for example my pct protocol right now: Im on clomid, nolva, exemestane, usplabs test powder, among other things and Ive had worst time with an increase in histamine production causing congestion and breathing problems at night. I have no idea what compound Im taking that is causing this but unfortunately I just have to push through for another 2 weeks before I come off the serms and AI. Diphenhydramine nor prescription antihistamines are working. Fck it....

That's bc majority of scientists don't care about muscle growth and performance in healthy males when compared to curing "insert any ailment."

It makes sense, but at the same time I wish it didn't cost supplement companies 150 grand to produce double blind placebo controlled trials.

Even when they do people don't believe it half the time(I.e. USP putting out DMAA studies) due to fraudulent studies(I.E. Ron Kramer's study coming into question when he tried to make himself a participant for a product he sells).

Crazy world.

Big John the Strongman's words today "You put the work in. You trained for it. You're stronger. You know you can ****ing do it, so don't think you can't. Don't confuse excitement as anxiety. They both feel the same in your gut. If you fail, then that means you didnt do something you were supossed to do and you didnt deserve it, which is okay"

The last part hits home.

That's the truth. I severely underestimated them the first time I did them.
Yeah, same here. At that one place where I was last month that was one of the circuits on a day of hell. The circuits were three-five minutes long. Funny seeing grown men pissed off at ropes.

annnnnnnd coco powdered almonds...and ants on a log

They suck ass

I have a bunch of old towline from our motor lifeboat at work. Looks like I'll be doing them at work too now
mattborn00 youre welcome for another crappy idea for when you're on duty

Will def look into that. Althought the biggest we have are 2 3/4" lines

LOL at battle ropes for 17s........that crap is scientific. Every one who uses them thinks its not bad...hits 17s then hates life.

This is random, but do you have any pre-competition superstitions/rituals going on? I am 4 weeks out and had already said I wouldn't touch a blade to my hair until after the meet....and now I am afraid to trim my beard too.

Hmm maybe you just jinxed me because I don't have any!!!

You have Dan Green hair so I wouldn't touch it either.

I get to see Dan Green at the meet! :D

Yep. Blade to the dome the night before weigh-ins. Bring the nastiest food I can find to the meet, wear my brother's custom singlet, and no shaving for as long before the meet as I can manage. Oh, and beers post-meet.

I'm staying a awake purposely just to drink water. ****!

And when you wake up in the middle of the night to piss, which you will, you'll have to drink some more water.

Ok I'm dumb...wtf are you drinking all the water for

In an attempt to compete in the 198 class for the slightest chance of achieving an Elite total if all the stars line up right.

First 3 days will be water loading to manipulate the body into making me piss everything out.

Weighed 208 last night.

DO NOT freak out when you step on the scale for the next few days. Don't forget the glycerin, pedialyte, and immodium for Saturday. I didn't know about the immodium, and it turns out that's the most important thing.

Oh I know lol Weighing 213 right now.

Got the Pedialyte and glycerin already. I'm already fantasizing about Qdoba burritos, chips & queso, chicken Lo mein and general tsaos chicken

Don't forget the sodium loading right now, otherwise you'll dehydrate too soon.

No need to eat salt, just super salty food. I basically cheat the first 2-3 days, clean up in the middle then go into the hard stuff.
