Sean's Powerlifting Journey

5'8"-5'8.5" depending on how heavy the squats were and how recently I'd done them. :P

Dang. I didn't know you were so short.

The army told me I'm 5'9.5" but every physical I've ever had put me at 5'11" before that.

I just say 5'9" because 5'9" 185 is thicker than 5'11" 185

Hahaha. I did the same thing with 5'8" because every physical I was 5'9" in my shoes. I think they had me leave my shoes on so I'd feel taller.

If that's the key thing, then it should be the only thing you're thinking about. The people around you on the platform should be able to help from there. As long as they say something more useful than UP UP UP.

I'll have whoever spot me cue "break bar" and second I touch my chest "legs"

I need someone to call "hips" for my pulls once the bar is at my knees

I feel like this is something almost everyone in the room should know to yell, and not be afraid to do so lol.

not in my gym, there's only one dude I trust to spot me. Bunch of retards...

I like watching all the people in the background during your videos.

I have to edit out all the air humping, mooning, and simulated jerking me off, whenever I video at work.

Lol, Dude, yesterday there was this 25 yr old Arab guido who was 'power cleaning' bringing his feet almost to his knees on the way up.

Same DB eighth squatting 405 grunting like a little fcking girl...

I like the wall squats dude. I've done them before (they are in super Ds video for setting the hips)
Minus the IR with your opposite foot on your knee... I need to try that

If you want to hate yourself, do a front squat hold rear lunge

His conditioning challenge calls for vertical. The low horizontals would have sucked, especially after the GHR

Back when I ran the S&C for my old MMA gym, I'd set up cones every 10yds. Low handles to the cone and high handles back to the start. They'd eventually work to 50yd stretches with no rest between pushes. Those claimed a lot of vomit.

I can attest to the fact that this type of set up will murder those you give them to. Many have been caught victim to this onslaught in my gym...low handles = instant KO. :D

It's brought many a fighter to their knees. The Prowler is one of the best conditioning tools any gym can have. Low impact on connective tissue, no eccentric movement, and is adjustable for each athlete.

****kk that sounds like hell

I was browsing through his prowler challenges in Beyond. After 3 weeks, I bump up to 180lbs

Ya I have everyone do the prowler...especially the people who tell me it is gonna be too easy. ;)

You think you have a grip on things in the gym then you come into a power lifting thread, see all the abbreviations, and scratch your head lol.

hahah Welcome bud

It's all mumbo jumbo, I don't even know either

ER=external rotation, SSB=Safety Squat bar, CAT=Compensitory Acceleration Training

Man time flys. Looks like your ready bro

DL opener looked smooth, just don't outpull me come competition time.

Deads are looking strong and bench is definitely a lot better Sean. Looking really good. Goodluck next weekend incase I don't have time to drop in this week.

I was just thinking I need to do my walking lunges in the front rack! Whenever I do unilateral work, I tend to get too much forward lean going and negate all of the stretching benefits.
