He's a horrible speaker. Which I like, because he keeps it simple and understandable. Looking forward to his book.

I agree. Chad knows he has all this info in him and you can see he pulls it out of him at times. Maybe just camera shy...either way he is extremely helpful.

Nice session. Dips felt fantastic. Landmine press rocks my delts and core. Planks suck ass. Triple Threats are still awesome. Kaz press was "eh". I'll either to just straight JM press, close grip, or skull crushers...not the mix of all 3 with an EZ-curl bar.

Also some LISS on the excercises bike and sprints/tire drags tomorrow

I'm inflated after low carbs yesterday and high carb today. I like it.

Where's the +90x8 pull-ups?

****, how did you get so far ahead of me on pull ups? I'm pissed, time to start doing pull ups at work.

I used two blue strong band to assist me, duh

I actually did that to a kid I was training in Columbus. He couldn't do a pull up, so we gave him a band. Then he did two, so we gave him two bands. What the eff!

haha awesome! I do like using the mini on occasion to help out. It makes me feel like a crossfiter so I don't post that I do it

wait

I just did

Starting Monday, I have two weeks of lifting left.

Monday will be my 5x1 week at 95%.

I'm contemplating hitting my 505 for 5 sets and possibly: Pause the last set, AMRAP the last set, or continue to 535, my opener. Or begin at 505 and work up to 535 then average or blue reverse band 585, my second attempt.

Bench press I'll hit my 5x1 reps and maybe a single and see if I can feel out an opener and maybe 2-Board 300, my hopeful 2nd attempt. I'm contemplating 285 as I hit it confidently a month ago.

Deadlift-I'm not sure yet what my plan will be. Maybe my 5x1 reps and a double or triple 10% above my reps for that day? 2" block pull? Ideas?

Then the week following would be my restart cycle to do 5x5. This week I'm unsure of what to do. Ideas/advice is strongly welcomed.

Well I don't have much advice as I am new to this still but chad Wesley smith, Rodja, and herderdude(and probably many more) have somewhat of a general idea on when the last times to go heavy leading to a meet. So I guess start there.

I'm sure some of the vets will have much more help then I have to offer as far as getting specifics.

First off, how are you feeling?

I like the heavy week with like one or two heavy assistance exercises (more supplemental by Wendler's terminology) and then openers with no assistance. Just try to be fast. Hit seconds to boards or with reverse bands on your opener days. I wouldn't try to go above your openers this week or next, that's best to do farther out. Just work on moving this fairly heavy stuff really fast and COME INTO THE MEET HEALTHY.

I have confidence that you'll be good at picking attempts, just don't be afraid to pick conservative, grab up small PRs, and go 9-for-9.

I'm feeling good. Not as confident strength was as I'd like to be. All I care about is a 600lb squat...anything else is "whatever to me"

I like that idea. 5x1 week + assistance, then the 2nd week hit openers and some light assistance/prehab type stuff

Great advice. I wouldn't hit a second attempt in training at this point (without assistance). But I'd at least get an opener in just to get a feel for it and make sure your form is up to par to handle the weight. I might even suggest working up to something between a first and second attempt but only as long as you know you'll make it (so I might not suggest this for bench unless you feel good, strong, and know you'll make it).

Agreed on the bench. If i so anything above an opener, I'll slap average bands on it. Thanks for your insight man.

There's going to be 120+ lifters at my meet. 10 of them are 198 Raw Modern. I'll also be in the Military/LE division by myself so I've already secured that division :D

Yikes. At least you got time to grab lunch between your lifts.

I personally would have enjoyed an extra hour between all 3 lifts. Bench flights started up so quickly in my meet of 50+ lifters, and that's me saying that as a lifter in the third flight of benches (and first of squats).

They've broken it up by sessions. I'll be in the evening session with the 181/198/220. Except that's probably 75 lifters...

Huh, interesting. When do the girls lift?

Also, that seems interesting how they plan on having a night session. That's almost like back to back to back lifting in order to get everyone through. Seems like a major headache.

Ah damn. Time to round up the troops and tell them to get their **** together and sign up!

Scheduled to do 5 singles of 505. I may do 3 of them, hit my 535 opener, and maybe 575 with strong bands. Next week hit 535 again for a couple sets and call it good. Thoughts?

Do the 3 singles then hit your opener. Your 2 weeks out right?

3 weeks. 2 lifting weeks left. This and next

**** man. Gene just posted that there's no more Saturday lifters so if you register now it'll have to be Sunday. Sucks because my dad flew in just to watch and he flies out Sunday morning
