Sean's Powerlifting Journey

That's some seasoned gold! The shaft has been mined many times.

Squats 5x3@85% of T1RM

Warmup
Olympic Wall Squat
HF Distractions
Lacrosse ball mash hips/glutes

Squat
445x5x3 Belt and EFS knee sleeves worn

Romanian Deadlift
315x8

Thennnnnnn I had to get underway last second for a case. I guess I'll make up the work on my Deadlift day.

That feel of interrupted lifting..

Not the same but I thought I'd get off at 2 today to hit my lift...only to see someone stroll in that I hadn't been awared of and therefore had to wait until 3 today.

You like the sleeves? I am thinking of grabbing some eventually (once my squat is more epic ;) ) but haven't really looked around at brands/types/etc.

I like the sleeves. They provide zero rebound or stopping power, but they keep my knees warm and help them track I think. Could be all mental though. They aren't overly tight at all and I can wear them an entire session. Id say they're a good purchase for any level of squatter. I dunno about Rhebands. Nomz says TK sucks and I bought the same EFS ones he has.

I conquer. Rhebands are nice if you want neoprene and/or compete USAPL.

Good squats Sean.

Thanks bud. Chest had trouble staying upright on the last rep of each set without my knee wraps. It's been a good while since I've done Good Mornings so those will be a priority in Thursday's workout.

Was talking to one of the guys that runs USAPL in Texas today about knee sleeves (mostly for my wife) but he told me he used the rhebands when he competed and liked him.

His name is Tony Cardella, and he trains a lot of people out here (literally for free) because he loves giving back to the sport.

Cool guy.

Couple guys at my gym wear Rheband and love it as well. The price was right with EFS at the time

Sounds like a cool dude. Hopefully you pick some stuff up from him.

Pretty cool idea. I'll start switching up the grips.

Defranco released a "flexible 11" today on YouTube. Haven't watched it yet but thought you'd be interested. I'll get to it when I have 20 minutes to YouTube.

Ya that shoulder series is intense...

I had been eagerly awaiting DeFranco's F-11 release as well. :D

I was wrong...it was limber 11.

I tried that band pull apart sequence and man...I failed prescribed reps. As Ron Burgandy would say "it was a deep, deep burn."

This is from worlds when he still competed (IPF).

I didn't even know there was a new series....

Gonna watch that today.

Thanks big man. Everytime I log onto YouTube, your '500 x stupid amount of reps' deadlift pops up lol

Lol! I'm working my way back to that. Sucks only being able to hit the weights 30 minutes a day at 5am. I missed this morning too. Oh well. I'll kill that **** tomorrow.

Strong mofo Matt Vincent in a recent article says he likes push pressing to build a bench because you're learning to transfer power from your feet to pressing to lockout with a little leg drive. Thoughts?

It is one of my assistance lifts in rotation for this training cycle...so I hope it works in that respect. :)

I may add it in to supplement on my OHP. Hopefully I notice a carry over.

So...2 rounds of pullaparts completed and Defrancos Flexible 11.

How do you like the new prehab/rehab tools? They look dynamite. It makes me feel better about doing push presses in the past to hear what he had to say about them.

Ya right now I am rotating between Push Press and OHP each week as one of my assistance lifts. Mine both SUCK so they are definitely needed for myself.

The Flexible 11 is nothing mind blowing but it's good if you don't wanna think about what to do. Most is what I've done before.

I'm glad I jumped back on the daily pullapart wagon. I was doing 100 a night a few weeks ago but I stopped for some reason

I'm going to bench less than my PR at this meet because I thought "Oh, I'll just do more benching instead of OHP." so you're on the right track.

Where are you setting the pins up on pin press?

Is your masseuse there with her dog? Lmao

Looks like some elite level numbers at 198 seem doable.

Nah I hit my 565 while not on the "stuff my ****ing face diet" and I feel it's getting stronger without wraps as well

I'll sacrifice a cut to 198 before I ever sacrifice my squat.

What's your squat at now? Sorry, I'm too impatient to catch up on 35 pages. ;)

LOL! I like that attitude. ;)

That is how I felt with my cast on...I almost cut that crap off just so I could squat. Being weaker on squats sucks more than anything.

I am spacing out, but when is your next planned meet?
