Sean's Powerlifting Journey

Gear porn

EFS band pack and half off an Inzer Rage X. I had my wife put the shirt on me. So much easier to get on, and it actually fits. I didnt realize how the blast shirt restricted me so much I couldn't even get my shoulders pulled back. Bench redemption Saturday, pending drunken *******s on the water

I'm so torn...I like raw but I'm wondering if a shirt wouldn't keep my shoulder intact for heavy work.

*sigh*

You just gotta do it man...go sit on a park bench and look right and envision with gear, and then look left and picture none. Then when the time is right you will hop up and run home and either order gear or not. It's the way of the world man.

Edit: I'm the only old man Seinfeld fan

Nice gear porn.....love my bands. So useful for a variety of stuff.

Lookin forward to the average and strong bands. The light bands suck for banded distractions.

May do some heavy SSB squats tomorrow...decisions decisions

Heavy SSB squats are the way, the truth and the light. Might be my favorite exercise right now.

Send me some of those bands, I need more.

Wasn't satisfied with my hips. They still weren't opening up irritation free, even though the glute tightness is gone (just sore from elbows)

So here's my mobility WOD tonight. (not shown was me sweating and falling over with the dog licking my face...then some overhead BW squats) I'm now opened up. Feel slight resistance but good enough to squat safely/comfortably.

How long did that all take, Sean? That's quite a thorough MWOD session. Who needs cardio after that?

How long did you do each for?

How long did you do each for?

I did 1 set each with the upper mashing, wasnt as tight because I did it prewo already. The banded distractions I did 2 sets of, about a minute each. The ones without the band I did once for about a minute, as it was stretching what the masseuse had done already. I did about 15 BW squats just to get opened up and get my hips in depth comfortably.

Used the average band

Lol mr i haven't had a week off in 28 months!

We all don't have the super recovery powers of rodja...

:)

It's work capacity. Alex was squatting 6 plates raw 2 weeks after his meet and is already back in gear. It sounds insane (well, it is), but this workload is still low compared to when I was fighting and had to literally be ready to fight on 24 hours notice.

You have "Becoming a Supple Leopard" on your phone? I'm mirin. I still need to get that book.

no comprende, I took 2 weeks off after nats, I didn't even want to see a gym...

EFS Yoke Bar Squat
465x2 + ATP Blue Arrows
495x2...thought I did 3..oops

Suspended SSB Good Mornings

Unilateral Leg Press

Back Raises/Ab Rollouts/Banded Crunches

Crappy Inzer briefs added after 405 with belt. Good session. I wanted more squats but didnt want to chance it with how my hips had been. They felt good so I was set.

Nice and deep on those squats. Your upper back handled those much better than mine does.

This came out today, thought you might like it:

I like. I didnt open my knees as far on my last set, which upset me. They were good though, forced me to be much more stable.

And you can just f'ng squat. Don't have to dick around with bar position...it's like an upright leg press for me, except more awesome.

Also...think I might jump to gear.

You guys are a bad influence.

Just be prepared to regret it everytime you try to shimmy yourself into it. It's awesome...weights most definetly feel easier and much more secured. I'm covered in bruises and my sessions last longer now.

Go for it!

I akin it to a tattoo. Once you get one piece, you want to get more and more.

fuuuuuuucking EFS

I buy Inzer gear. Metal goes on sale the day after I receive them.

I buy a full band pack. Bands go on sale the day after I receive them.

I've had mixed results with EFS bands, especially their short ones.

I think they're Onyx line is superior. Ive never seen them split or tear from normal usage. These seemed more cost effective compared to buying the exact same sizes in other brands though, so I'm going to baby them so they last more than 3 months. Almost went with what ATP sold.

Short bands? My gym has a ton. Haven't even thought about using them. Maybe I should.

Perfect analogy right here. I'd have more tatttoos if I hadn't spent on gear.

I like them for bench and pulls if you have a platform.

The only time I've used bands is tying them to the top of the bench and sliding myself to the end of the bench so they pull down and toward my head. Keeps my elbows in and my pressing low. When does the Rage X come out to play?

Nice! I'm looking forward to how it does for you.

First time in the Rage X single ply. Took 365 to my chest. I don't hate myself anymore. 375 to a 2-board but failed an inch before lockout. The groove of the shirt didnt feel weird one bit and the bar flew off my chest. I think once I get the sleeves pulled up a bit further that should help more. I was able to get the elbow flare easily too
