Sean's Powerlifting Journey

2nd 358. this was a 53 lb pr from my last meet. props to Rodja's buddy Alex's handler Evan, who called my depth for me today. this was really wobbly on my walkout. Evan yelled 'SETTLE' and i came to a complete stop. my feet were under me and there were no issues after the bar stopped wobbling around. this blew me by the 345 i dumped last week - thanks herder for the advice to stay away from it.

3rd, 374.8 meh, 375. i think i got away with this one. after watching it 10 times, i think it's an inch high. but i got 3 white lights so i'll take it.

I disagree- I think you slow down high, but you're at depth when you reverse your movement. I think it was a good lift, sir.

Nice work dude, I'm happy for you.

just got a text from evan, rodja's buddy just hit a world record 579 bench @ 198!

this dude cut 27 lbs in a week, and ended up in the hospital yesterday for a few hours...

Disagree as well. You hit depth last second it looked to me. Congrats man.

thanks bro, it was iffy. props again to evan who told me 15 more lbs after my second, and that's what i took. left up to me i woulda called 370.

Was his hospital visit related to that I'm assuming?

yep, he looked like death at morning weigh in. he missed and went to the sauna until 11 then made weight. ate something and it went out the other end.

he was actually the first dude i talked to yesterday. i was like i'm steve, he said alex i knew it was him.

i'm saving him and evan 40 bucks and driving them to the airport tomorrow. it's 5 minutes away...

Nice work Napalm. Congrats!!

alex totaled 1913. 551 for his second, missed 600 on third for his pro card.

he's gotta be close to best lifter.

this thing was a 12 hour deathmatch. big big props to the guys that finished it...

That's mama's. Mine is orange & grey. WTF you think I took the pic with, holmes?

You guys have any shoulder integrity issues with the klokov press? I'm thinking about trying it, but from years of pitching my shoulder can get touchy. I've always avoided anything behind the neck.

So I'm late, but well done Napalm! You definitely hit depth with the last second dip on your third attempt. I read once that if you got three white lights, you went TOO deep, though I think the author was being facetious.

Thanks dude, I don't think that squat will ever be mistaken for too deep :biglaugh:

RPS meet in October I may do if I'm ready and change my mind about USAPL. Rychlak might be the meet director. buttttttt USAPL will be free if I do the military division. too many decisions

I've been coughing all weekend. Now I think I sprung a rib (rib 11)

Think it's too risky to have someone pop it back in place. Or maybe a masseuse? I'm not really wanting to go to medical and risk being put on light duty because they'll keep tabs on me to make sure I'm not lifting.

Chiropractor?

Or lay flat, exhale, and have a buddy push hard in the tender spot.

I have to go to coast guard medical to get a referral to see a chiro...so gotta wait for an appointment to wait for another appointment

I'll try the latter

edit: that hurt I'm a puscy

no, I couldn't do it. I just tried puttin a little pressure on it with a foam roller but the pain is pretty freakin bad. I'll give medical a call in the morning if it doesn't feel better

maybe my deadlift suit will pop it in place

lol doubt it.If the pain is that bad, call medical.I was assuming this was posterior and not anterior? Sharp stabbing pain on inhalation?

nah like someone punched me. it's tight and feels like a cramp when it doesn't hurt. then I move the wrong way, cough, or touch it and it sucks

Went to the Doc and of course my back doesn't ****ing hurt anymore....

My pulse has been high for the past 5 years apparently. I check it at home and I'm 60-70 but they document it at 90 whenever I have a random medical appointment.

Ended up giving a urine sample, 5 blood tests, and referal to a cardiologist because he thinks I have asymptomatic tachycardia. Whatever. No more caffeine for me though.

I was gonna go deadlift but..I suppose I'll wait for tomorrow seeing as I haven't eatin or drank a single bit today.

Edit: Slammed Gatorade. I'm lifting. Stimulant free of course
