ryane87s ride to awesomeness

We got to the gym at the same time bro lol. Probably left around the same time as well. 6:50 or so?

And yes..... ........ .....about 6:50.......lol

Shoulders and tris today fellas. Got a late start. Wife wanted to hang out because I have been working a ton. So I didn't get to the gym until about 6. Still an awesome session.

Z-press: 125x8, 135x7, 145x4, 125x5+3+2, 105x8 2 second pause at the bottom

Laterals: 30x8, 30x8, 25x10

Rear laterals: 20x10 for 3 sets slow through each rep

Reverse grip/overhand pressdown extended: 2 sets 100x10/8

One arm same way: 2 sets 40x8/8

At least your wife wants to hang out with you!! That's a good thing!

Appreciate bud...I haven't curled in MONTHS due to elbow problems...looking forward to getting back to them at some point....lol

I would say do rows but you already do plenty lol.

The irony is that I do all of my back exercises with a thumbless grip so I can de-emphasize the biceps during back movements to engage the lats as much as possible

Let that lettuce grow out !!

You should see the full picture! haha I am just glad at almost 37 I can still grow hair like that...my dad was bald by 28 or....thank goodness for my mother's genes...LMAO

Aah, that HAIR!
I can't remember how it felt when the wind moved it...

Thinking about it, when I stick my hairy azz out of the window on a windy day, that could be nice too.

You would scar a child for life doing that....your @ss fuzz just blowing through the breeze....

Quad focus today gentlemen. Decided to change it up and do single leg leg press. Found out REAL quick that I think my left leg has been carrying my right leg. Right leg side intense hip and knee pain and labored very hard through each set. Left side much, much easier. It feels like tendon/ligament pain of some kind. Not necessarily joint related. But when I get some extra funds I am going to try both flexatril and nerve restore before I start looking into things that need pinned

Single leg press: 2 plates per side x12, +25 each sidex12, 3 plates per side x10, +25 each sidex7, +5 each side x4. Very bad pain in my right side each rep

I did front squats. No hip pain or knee pain. I need to take a pic of my new set up. Make sure it's kosher.

Front squats: 135x8, 155x8, 165x8.

Felt a slight tinge, but nothing bad. It feels kinda easy and if I was confident I could start with them again, I would.

Didn't have much time so I finished up with 3 sets of barbell hack squat/standing calf raise superset

Side note: squatting barefoot still and loving the hell out of it. Highly recommend!

This morning's training was chest and it turned out pretty well by my standards. Very exciting getting closer to an initial goal. Started with reverse grip bench this morning.

Reverse grip bench: 195x5, 205x3, 215x1, 225x1, 165x9. Long time since I have tried 225. I felt like even 235-240 could have been in the cards with a competent spotter that would just keep an eye on me

Incline dumbbell press: 65x7, 70x5, 75x5, 60x9. All sets done with a rep or two left each one

Reverse grip incline barbell press: 115x6, 120x6, 125x6. All done with reps in the tank each set

Chest dips: 2 sets of 10 with a 3 second negative each rep

Really awesome session and I was tired as fck! LOL

Good new on the Hip and Knee! hope it doesn't show its ugly head. sounds like you are being cautious. It kind of jacks with you when you know it might give out while you trying to push it. that does suck.

What shoes were you wearing before when you were squatting? I used to wear sneakers with lots of cushion. It killed my knees. Then I went barefoot and things got alot better. Then I bought some chucks cause I was tearing up my socks lol.

See a lot of people wearing chuck Taylors these days in the gym. I have a pair of Puma's that my wife got me years ago at some discount store that have almost no sole and they work great.

Just some generic ole athletic shoes from one of the chains...maybe Sports Authority or some shyt?

Not tired from the session...tired from being up late from Halloween and then getting up at 4:30. I was tired as hell and it was still good...lol

Well, it's weird. It still hurts like hell trying to leg press. And if I used a standard squat set-up, I would be in trouble as well. It isn't muscular, feels connective. Tendon or ligament. So I am going to start getting the lowdown on healing peptides, try some Nerve Restore and flexatril when funds allow

hairygrandpa is like the new Peptide resident expert.

No expert but senior lab rat, LOL. ryane87, I had positive results using both, BPC and TB-500 separately. TB-500 would be favorite due to easiness of application (no injury side injection).
Just make sure you buy enough for at least 8-12 weeks (loading for 4 weeks, then once or twice/week). I bought 4 vials/5mg and just when it began to work, I had to reorder. My new order was for 8 vials.

Pic quality sucks, but I haven't posted a back shot yet. It isn't bad, but I still need A LOT of work...lol

Back day today. Good day this morning

Bent over rows: 215x6, 225x5, 225x5, 175x7 2 second hold at top of each rep

Behind-the-neck pull-ups: +15 lbs 6+3, 4+2+2, 3

Pull ups to front with 2 second hold at the top: 4, 3

One arm barbell row: I do it with the bar on either side. When I set up, I shift my hips to where my working side is higher, kind of like when you do with Meadows rows. The stretch is magnificent

50x8, 55x8, 60x8

One arm lat pulldown: 3 sets of 10 with 90 pounds. 2 second hold at the bottom of each rep

6 sets of face pulls to finish off. Didn't have time to focus on rear delts like I wanted, but happy to get this in

Not bad for a selfie back shot. Hard to do. Had to put my reading glasses on. Lol I'm old.

Interesting turn at my gym. Awhile back I told you guys my gym might be closing. Well, it was bought awhile ago by a bodybuilder sized guy maybe a month or two ago. I talked to him for awhile and it is TJ Clark, national level NPC bodybuilder that finished second at either the USAs or Nationals a couple of years ago.

Anyway, he made it a point to stop and talk to me today. We were talking about competing and such and he said with my structure and build I could be ready to do a show by spring/summer. I always thought of competing but thought I needed a ton more size. He said I just needed a look and with my structure and shape I could be ready by spring/summer. Very encouraging and inspiring. He even offered to help get me ready. Cool freaking dude
