Road to SHRED Log

LOW Intensity Cardio For HIGH Intensity FAT LOSS
By: Marc Lobliner, Chuck Rudolph, MEd, RD and Derek Charlebois
Team Scivation

The debate will never die! Some trainers and experts are pro High Intensity (HIIT) due to its ability to stimulate hormones similar to those stimulated during weight training and also, well, it takes less time to burn the same amount of calories as lower intensity cardio! The advocates of Low Intensity (LI) cardio counter with the fact that LI cardio is much more beneficial for the physique athlete trying to cut fat and maintain muscle. Well, which one is best? It depends. Read on to find out what Scivation has to say about the topic….

We like HIIT a lot. We also like LI a lot. The key is when to use them. When in a low carb state, we want to tap in to fat for our energy source during cardio. This is where we call on the “fat burn zone”. While some HIIT advocates believe that this is utter rubbish (props to the UK), we somewhat disagree. These numbers didn’t just come from thin air and we know that at a certain level, the body prefers carbs over fat as an energy source. What happens when you have no carbs? Well, let’s just say for the most part cardio will not be fun and you also risk injury IF you’re even getting to the required 90% VO2 Max for it to be considered HIIT cardio!

So what level would this be? I am not going to bore you with statistics and make you do formulas because as you know, we just want to state what Team Scivation recommends. I actually saw this explained best by Dave Palumbo who happens to train a good friend of mine and is also an advocate of low carb dieting to get into your best condition. To paraphrase, Dave has stated to keep your heart rate under 110-120 BPM and walk at a leisurely pace. If on a treadmill, this usually means an incline of 0-2.0 and a speed of 3.0-3.2. If this doesn’t get your heart rate high enough, don’t fret about it. I personally have a resting heart rate of 44 beats per minute and to get my heart rate to 110 beats per minute, I would have to leap from a building.

Another issue that we have is the whole marathon runner’s legs versus sprinters legs. Let’s just throw genetics out the door, because there is a reason Chuck chose to play baseball and I chose to play football earlier in our lives—our talent and enjoyment of it DICTATED that choice. Perhaps sprinters like and were built to sprint and marathon runners like and were built to run far? I do not know nor do I care. I would rather take my knowledge-camera and focus in on how they train. Sprinters do a LOT of leg work in the gym. Maurice Green and Ben Johnson are known for their workouts. Marathon runners run, and a lot of them do not weight train, at least not as heavy as it would take to build muscle. I would love to see a study where both were put on the same weight training program in addition to their normal training and see who builds more LBM with set variables. But, it isn’t going to happen. The bottom line is that marathon runners and sprinters are different athletes who train for different results, period.

Now, when bulking on a caloric surplus with carbohydrates, there is no reason NOT to do HIIT other than preference. I usually do two sessions of HIIT per week while bulking to prevent excess fat gain and also because I think it hits the hamstrings rather efficiently. But this is when my body is not glycogen deprived and can actually hit that HIIT range. When dieting, I did try doing HIIT. The ending to this story? I pulled a hamstring! And keep in mind that I am a former competitive athlete who ran the 40 yard dash in the 4.6’s and also train regularly. So it isn’t like I just stepped off my couch after months of munching on Ruffles with Ridges and sprinted. I warmed up, and it still locked right up!

The Exception to the Rule

If you hit a stick point even when on a low carb diet, you might be prescribed HIIT by the fine folks at Scivation. We usually recommend doing this on an elliptical machine on NON-weight training days. The elliptical carries much less risk than the jarring of a treadmill and gets the whole body involved unlike a bike. We usually recommend 2:1 Rest to Work periods with a five minute warm up and a five minute cool down for a total of 25-30 minutes. Again, this is to be done on NON-weight training days!

The Bottom Line

When dieting on lower carbs and in a caloric deficiency, we recommend doing low intensity cardio with your heart rate around 110-120 beats per minute. If trying to zap off that last bit of fat or if you have reached a stick point even while on lower carbs, you can add in HIIT on NON-weight training days, preferably on the elliptical machine.

When bulking, just do SOME form of cardio to avoid looking like Oprah on D-Bol.

Now get to steppin’!

On deck for today's YEAH BUDDY IT'S FRIDAY AND THE VIDEO SHOOT IS MONDAY plan:

Did 1.5 hrs LI cardio on treadmill at 3.0 speed and 2.0 incline last night and posed before going to sleep. I even had music playing, "The glutes come out at night, the glutes come out at night....THE GLUTES COME OUT!"

All I want for Christmas is my two ripped glutes, my two ripped glutes, my two ripped glutes....

YEAH BUDDY! After the TOUGH 8 hours of training in two days Derek and I did Monday and Tuesday, we woke up on Wednesday and did 1 hour of cardio and chest! It was intense! Today I did legs with Lin and we tore it up. I also did my 1.5 hours of cardio. Now, I ain't moving! :)

I am sharper and harder and woke up at 172.5. I feel good and sore. Why did I train after all that? Because it was planned! I also have 2 weeks left to leave my MARC on the world of bodybuilding in Texas.

I have some more cardio today and will work and catch up on work. In two weeks, the game is ON and the contest season begins. ZERO down, FIVE to go!

Two Weeks and there will be cuts in my buttcheeks!!

This is what I was thinking as I walked for 1.5 hours this morning with nothing bu Xtend and a smile on my face. I am SO JACKED! Woke up at 171.5 after my water regulated from my TWO DAYS OF EXERTION HELL on Monday and Tuesday. I did 45 minutes of LI cardio mid-day yesterday and since my wife went out, I did 30 minutes to loosen up my legs at the end of my night. Diet was PERFECT as always...I NEVER SLIP!

I also got the final component of our new nighttime formula. This was HARD to get, as we had to import and test from a very expensive African source. This is UNREAL! On Sunday, we will see if deep sleep equals deep abs. Starting this two weeks out AFTER peaking last week will tell us a lot about how effective it really is.

I have shoulders and more cardio at 10am. YEAH BUDDY!

Video shoot looks great. Can't wait to see it! Are you going to be tossing in DVD copies with special orders....*cough cough*, buy 2 large xtend get free dvd?? :D

Video shoot looks great. Can't wait to see it! Are you going to be tossing in DVD copies with special orders....*cough cough*, buy 2 large xtend get free dvd?? :D

YEAH BUDDY!

I am hovering at the 172 weight range consistently and have a CARB MEAL tonight. I am actually getting a better life insurance policy through a new carrier so I had a physical again. MY HEART RATE IS 40 BPM and my BP is 110/70! I am in the shape of my life! If I die, Katie will be rich BEEEEYATCH!

I did shoulders and traps at 10:30 am yesterday after the bloodwork. I took vasocharge for the first time since the video and WOW--PERSONAL BEST ON SHOULDER PRESS! I did two sets of 205 for 15 reps. Last week I did this for one set. This means I got stronger whole losing FAT and also after KILLING my body on Monday and Tuesday. YES! Cut Diet in the HOUSE! Here is the rundown, all 15 reps and 2 sets:

Smith Shoulder Press
Behind Back Smith Shrugs
Lateral Raise
Reverse Pec Deck Rear Delt
Rear Delt Row
DB Shrugs
TENSION Front Raises
Cable behind back lateral raises
ABS AND CALVES

Cardio was as follows:

3:15am: 90 minutes
Post Workout: 45 minutes
7:30pm: 30 minutes

DIET is SOLID!

Today I have already knocked out 90 minutes of cardio, 2 hours of work, and am going to train in an hour--ARM DAY!

September 15, Heart of Texas. Time to polish my guns and take over this "Make My Day" state with my cannons. One more time for the homies in the struggle....YEAH BUDDY!

Great work...wow.. This is a hell of a log. This is the definition of commitment right here.

If you had to guess, what BF where u to start?

171 EVEN this morning, so I lost 0.5 pounds AFTER my carb meal!

I am off to do some cardio, 90 minutes of dog walking. Also, today I start the new Scivation Night Time formula that I expect BIG things out of. I will try and get outdoor pics taken today if my wife doesn't get mad at me for doing something stupid (which I WILL do at some point everyday LOL).

I feel awesome and am less than two weeks away from showing the world what I have. Remember, the show I am actually dieting for, the Carolina Clash, is 47 DAYS AWAY! But the Cut Diet has worked so well that I will be ready, although maybe not AS REFINED, many weeks before that.

No excuses. It is time to take what is mine.

Oh yeah, The Lean Mass Diet is DONE and should be online by tonight. I will release the website for your FREE DOWNLOAD as soon as it is up.

Pics--a bit FLAT due to cardio, but the leanness is there:

Okay, 90 minutes of cardio DONE! Eating the following:

Tilapia
Spinach
Macadamia Nut Oil

About to go kill some back and shoulders for WEAK SPOT day.

I am very awake. That new formula is awesome from what I can tell so far. I feel amazing.

As for the new nighttime formula....HOLY COW! I don't know what to say. I am about to do cardio and then update, but I am down one pound to 170.5 and I also woke up hard and veiny and I haven't had a carb meal in a day. I look like I just ate a cheesecake depleted and at 4% bodyfat. I am visibly leaner. We will be taking it again and every night throughout my shows, but let's see what happens tonight.

If it works this well after one night, this is definitely a sample-friendly product. Also, I slept deep and sound and awoke at 3am ready to take on the world.

Pictures eliminate placebo, so let's see how I look on Tuesday.

Night Time Meal: NORMAL CUT DIET CARB MEAL

Food to bring with Day of Show (nibbled on – YOU DO NOT WANT TO FEEL STUFFED OR BLOATED):

This is where we got jiggy with it. We ate salmon and sweet potato for breakfast (until satiated, NOT STUFFED OR BLOATED), and we had about 12 ounces of yam and four ounces of salmon. For the shoot, we had baked sweet potato (skin or no skin – it doesn’t matter) and poached salmon. We topped it with Splenda and cinnamon and YES! Protein, EFA and PERFECT game day carbs! We packed a Tupperware full of this mixture and ate it in between shoots and right before the video. It kept us full, hard, dry and satiated. We used about a 3:1 yam to salmon ratio.

We also had Gatorade in case cramping came on. As you will read later, THANK GOD WE HAD IT!

Here is the carb meal we ate with NO WATER 60 minutes before or after the carb meal:

MUST BE eaten in this order and make it LAST 60-75 minutes…TAKE YOUR TIME!!!!!!

1. 12 oz asparagus = 15g carbs

2. 13 oz grapefruit = 30g carbs

3. ½ cup oatmeal (measured dry then add water and microwave) = 30g carbs
1tbsp macadamia nut oil = 15g fat

4. 16 oz yam or sweet potato = 120g carbs
1tbsp macadamia nut oil = 15g fat

Carbs – 195g = 780 cals
Fat – 30g = 270

Game Time

This was much harder that any contest. We had to film four intense (as you will see in the video) workouts in two days. We were DRY (no water) and it was rough—SIX HOURS of filming and lifting hard for two straight days! We got it done, other than these little issues…

CRAMPS!

Most people following the Cut Diet Showtime week do not experience cramping, but due to our INTENSE training, this was a possibility. If you watch closely, you will notice Derek isn’t always there in the chest and shoulder workout. The reason? We did back earlier in the day and took an hour break before filming chest and shoulders. We KILLED back. While doing dips, on the descent, Derek’s back and lats locked up! He then chugged Gatorade and it got better, but we were better off waiting until the next day for LEGS for Derek to come back and really kill it. Luckily, Jim and I took over and it is still unreal and INTENSE!

The next day, during squats, I felt my abs lock up! I sipped maybe 4 ounces of Gatorade and it subsided. We did not go heavy on these, so I did all of my sets. If 225 looks hard on squats for me, this is why. Ab cramps HURT!

Other than that, we made it and did 12 hours of hardcore training in two days!

Keep an Eye Open!

The video, TriPhase Training, will be out soon! Keep a lookout on the Supersite of Invalid Link Removed and also look for Jim’s LiftRight program and you will see what will soon become a training video classic!

As for me, I have the Heart of Texas in two weeks and am READY TO BRING IT! I will leave you all with some pictures of Derek and I. I will update my training in the next installment, but here is another rundown of my planned shows as I begin my journey to the pros!

September 15: Heart of Texas—Plano, Texas
September 22: Mountaineer—Boone, NC (National Qualifier)
October 20: Carolina Clash—Kannapolis, NC (National Qualifier)
November 3: Elite Classic—Greensboro, NC (National Qualifier)
November 10: Kentucky Muscle—Louisville, KY (National Qualifier)

Oh yeah, we also sipped copious amounts of Xtend during this video and got our pump on with Vasocharge—the Scivation Workout Nutrition Stack. YEAH BUDDY!

Wow, lookin shredded! What type of product is this nighttime formula you're testing out? I'm a little out of the loop on this one.

It is a secret. The results will speak for themselves. This is the ONLY variable I have added to the mix.

Let me know if you need any women testers for the nightime formula. Matts insomnia is keeping me up all night and I'm working on a month of sleep deprivation. Its making it hard for me to do what I need at the gym and take care of my kids. I feel like death!

Today I murdered legs. Also, alert and feeling AWESOME all day. Carb Meal in a little bit!

Here is what I did.

Leg Extensions: 3 sets 15

Squats: 3 sets of 15 with 135--this is my first time doing these in a long time other than the video so I went light and will not go heavy for a while. Felt GOOD

Leg Press

V Squat

Leg Curls

Lunges: 10 sets of 6 with 30lb DBs in each hand. COME OUT GLUTES!!!

Tip Toes Squats

Calves

Abs

Cardio:

90 min AM
60 min PWO
30 min Evening

All with Xtend in mah belly!

Carb time!

Yesterday I did my evening cardio and Chuck confirmed it post carb meal--NO MORE CARDIO! Cardio will be PWO only for 30-45 minutes. This is great! Now, I can focus on lifting heavy and refining the muscle....and letting my legs recover!

I am going in to do chest and today I am in meetings all day long. I have my meals in my cooler and am set to roll.

It is game time baby! Now the quads are going to POP out. YEAH BUDDY!

HOLY YEAH BUDDY MACADOSHIOUS KRIS KROSS WILL MAKE YA JUMP JUMP!

Woke up today with more veins in my abs than I care to look at. I made myself nauseous! LOL....

Weighed myself--167.2! Chuck says it is due to the inflammation in my legs going away from the cardio. And shredded they were! Glutes are coming in. I predict a total eclipse of the MOON POSE next week!

As for muscle loss, I laugh it right in the face. Did 335 on deadlifts today and matched or beat PR's on everything else. They YEAH BUDDY juice was in the house. What is YEAH BUDDY juice? Vasocharge, Xtend and of course, a good night sleep the night before. But Kami is sick and I didn't sleep much! Thankfully, with our new nighttime formula, the sleep I DID get was restful and deep.

I broke a Chuck rule and accidentally did 45 min instead of 30 min of cardio. The reason? I was zoned out on the treadmill PreWO and watching some crap on botanical gardens and droughts. Oh well. :) My legs look better already!

Here is the session. I broke it down propa'lot.

45 mins LI Cardio
Deadlifts
Rev. Grip Rows
Pull Ups
Hammer Low Rows
Rev. Grip Lat Pull Downs
Lat Pull Downs
Low Rows
Rope Rows ISOLATION
Calves
LOTS OF ABS

Posing later and making it happen. One week to go!

I REALLY torched my back yesterday and now my shoulders, my FORMER weak area turned strength (YEAH BUDDY!) are jealous. I have 45 minutes LI cardio, TONS of abs, some calves and an extreme shoulder massacre on the agenda for this morning. Right now, Kami kept me up ALL NIGHT, but the two hours of sleep that I did get were amazing, thanks to the new nighttime formula! This stuff is awesome.

I weighed 166.8 this morning and have trouble seeing any fat on my body. The glutes are showing more and more and by showtime, or at the least by the Mountaineer on the 22nd, they will be dialed in for sure! I am ready to win these suckers!

Chuck has me doing a test carb up on Saturday night, so I'll let you all know how that goes and take pics, etc. For now, off to train--YEAH BUDDY!

One more thing--Cut Diet Lean Mass is ALMOST HERE! This is what I used to pack on over 10 pounds of LEAN MASS this offseason. Check it out:

Cut Diet Lean Mass
The Final Lean Bulk ProgramYou’ll Ever Need

By Chuck Rudolph, MEd, RD
With
Marc Lobliner and Derek Charlebois

The Cut Diet has worked wonders in getting thousands of bodybuilders on stage and in their best condition ever. A lot of the time, they even gain lean mass while losing fat doing the Cut Diet. This has led to countless people asking us if they can bulk with the Cut Diet. The answer is YES!

Some people just respond well to lower carb diets and do not tolerate carbs well. Also, what if one wants to gain lean body mass (LBM) with little to no fat gain while maintaining near contest conditioning year round? What if rapid gains aren’t what one is after, but rather steady, maintainable gains that have less chance of being lost when trying to diet down and lose all that fat accrual from the mass phase? Well, this is now possible, and Team Scivation has just the program for you – Cut Diet Lean Mass.

166 today and READY for tonights practice Carb Meal. I will outline the changes below.

I did my normal shoulder workout yesterday and arms today with 45 min PreWO cardio. Looking flat and LEAN!

Here is my update!

Marc Lobliner's Road to Success Installment 21
All my striations live in Texas, Texas is the place that shredded glutes like to be?

This is it. One week out from what was supposed to be a warm up show and I am ready. I am peeled and it only gets better from here. My glutes should be in by gameday and my weight is at 166.8 today! I will probably step onstage at around this weight post carb up. The advantage is that with the Bodybuilding.com video shoot, we were able to test how my body responds to certain things. Thus tomorrow, exactly one week out from the Heart of Texas, we will do a new carb up strategy. Since I am so lean, we are going to add 10 ounces of YAM to meal 5 and keep the nighttime Carb Meal the same for meal 6. This is the advantage to being ahead of the curve, you can experiment! It will look like this:

Saturday Sept 8th Carb Meal TEST

Workout Nutrition = 12 scoops Xtend in 20-24 oz cold water

Meal 1 5 oz Fish
1/2 cup steamed asparagus
2 oz Avocado or 2 tsp macadamia oil/flax oil/enova oil/olive oil/smart balance oil 35g protein, 10g fat, 5g carbs

Meal 2 5 oz Fish
1/2 cup steamed asparagus
1 oz Avocado or 1 tsp macadamia oil/flax oil/enova oil/olive oil/smart balance oil
35g protein, 5g fat, 5g carbs

Meal 3 6 oz Fish
1/2 cup steamed asparagus
1 oz Avocado or 1 tsp macadamia oil/flax oil/enova oil/olive oil/smart balance oil
42g protein, 5g fat, 5g carbs

Meal 4 5 oz Fish
1/2 cup steamed asparagus
1 oz Avocado or 1 tsp macadamia oil/flax oil/enova oil/olive oil/smart balance oil
35g protein, 5g fat, 5g carbs

Meal 5 6 oz Fish
1/2 cup steamed asparagus or green beans or broccoli
1 oz Avocado or 1 tsp macadamia oil/flax oil/enova oil/olive oil/smart balance oil
10 oz sweet potato
42g protein, 5g fat, 80g carbs

Meal 6 CARB MEAL

Every 18th meal is carb meal. LAST MEAL and it replaces Meal 6. MUST BE eaten in this order and make it LAST 60-75 minutes--TAKE YOUR TIME!!!!!!

1. 1.5 cup asparagus = 15g carbs

2. 13 oz grapefruit = 30g carbs

3. 1/2 cup oatmeal (measured dry then add water and microwave) = 30g carbs
1 tbsp macadamia oil/flax oil/enova oil/olive oil/smart balance oil = 15g fat

4. 16 oz yam or sweet potato = 120g carbs
1 tbsp macadamia oil/flax oil/enova oil/olive oil/smart balance oil = 15g fat

Carbs -- 195g = 780 cals
Fat -- 30g = 270

The only change is the yam with meal five. This might give me that little extra mojo I need to fill out and do some damage! Considering how lean I am right now, it cannot hurt to try!

Cardio Cut

A lot of people were screaming at me for the amount of cardio I was doing--up to THREE HOURS daily. Did people think I actually WANTED to do this much cardio? Heck no? I have no time for it with Scivation, a child and a wife! Yet, I did it. And now I am over a week out and READY to step onstage. No last minute fat loss tricks or anything. I have actually CUT cardio at a week out to only 45 minutes Pre Workout at low intensity. My legs are healing and getting those deeply etched cuts that I knew existed but were blurred by the swelling caused by all the cardio! All of that cardio and no muscle wasting. It goes to show you how effective the Cut Diet and Workout Nutrition (Xtend) truly is. YEAH BUDDY! The show I am actually dieting for isn't until October 20!

Training

As for what I will do the week of the show, I have been going hard and heavy with my 15 rep, rest-pause style. But next week I do not want to tax my muscles too much nor do I want to be sore on stage. Thus for me, Derek "Beast" Charlebois and myself put the following depletion routine together to ensure my legs are rested and I am ready to tear it up in Texas! Saturday will be my last regular workout--ARM DAY!

Sunday: 45 minutes of Cardio and Full Body Depletion Routine and POSING
Monday: 45 minutes of Cardio and Light Legs, Back and Biceps Depletion Routine and POSING
Tuesday: 45 minutes of Cardio and Light Chest, Shoulder, Tricep Depletion Routine and POSING
Wednesday: 45 minutes of Cardio and Light Upper Body Depletion Routine and POSING
Thursday: Light Upper Body Depletion Routine and POSING
Friday: Light Upper Body Depletion Routine and POSING
Saturday: SHOWTIME!

Up Next

My next article will be written in two to three days and will detail what we have decided to do. Why can't I tell you now? Well, the body is not a textbook, and we will not know what we're going to until we see how my body reacts. Listen, I help people with their diet and training for a living, but I would NEVER do this without Chuck Rudolph and Derek Charlebois. If you are serious about achieving your best conditioning ever, it is my opinion that you will get the best results if you defer to an expert even if you are one yourself.

GAME TIME!

You will hear from me and have updated pics shortly. Until next time, drink that Xtend!

165.6 this morning after day one of salting and drinking three gallons of water. So, I lost 1/2 pound!.

I am veiny and full. I could literally rub on some tan and oil and make it happen right now. Regardless, I have five days to DIAL IT IN!

Yesterday, I did 45 minutes of Cardio and Full Body Depletion Routine and POSING. I also hit up a tan. It kicked my butt but after two hours, I was depleted! Full body is tough! Today I have 45 minutes of Cardio and Light Legs, Back and Biceps Depletion Routine and POSING. I already posed for ten minutes this morning, so I am on my way. I am much better than my pics the other day--it is awesome!

Diet is all laid out and Chuck has me doing FOUR shakes of a salt shaker per meal and 99mg potassium for meals 1,3,5. Also, my water is cut 30 minutes before and after meals to avoid any possible retention. My meals are all laid out with:

Tilapia
Asparagus
Enova/Flax/Macadamia Nut/Avocado Oil (different in each meal)

PEAK TIME!

If you're gonna compete in Texas, you've gotta have some glutes and a tan.

YEAH BUDDY! I feel good. I am back in ketosis after the carb meal and the brain fog and lethargy is gone. I rocked out Legs, Back and biceps and did a hybrid depletion/KICK MARC's ASS workout. I even went up to 315 on deadlifts and did 2-3 sets of 15 HEAVY and HARD on everything--including leg press! Check this!

15 min POSING
45 min. PreWO Cardio

Leg Press
V-Squat

Now it is time to get serious! ROCK AND ROLL!

Diet today is 4 salt shakes per meal and 99mg potassium at meals 1,3 and 5 with 3 gallons of water.

YEAH BUDDY!

165.4 Today! I am actually LOSING weight during salt and water load! Tomorrow I start diuretics and salt drop so who knows what crazy things will happen!

Incline DB Press

Gametime is Almost Here

Wednesday at 3am—I sit and write this as I eat meal one and prepare for a nice full body workout and chest training with my workout partner, Lin. I leave tomorrow for Dallas bright and early, to claim what is mine. When I was a child, my parents moved us out to an area surrounding Edward’s Air Force Base in Southern California. I remember going to shuttle launches and wondering the anticipation, fear of the unknown and HUNGER going through the minds of those brave astronauts. This week, I feel their anticipation as I drool at the thought of suiting up in my black trunks and doing battle—showcasing to the entire audience how hard I have worked and sacrificed. The cardio after my beautiful daughter went to sleep. Setting the alarm for 1:30am to do cardio before my flight left. Training through the aches and pains. The hunger. Now and through the rest of my shows ending on November 10 in Kentucky, it is time to get what is mine!

For peak week, Chuck and Derek have been talking a lot and we now think we have refined what works for me even further. Here it is, and by the way, Scivation is launching a new water-drop pill based on the formula found in the Showtime Cut Diet. Expect it on the market in about six weeks….but I have mine now! 

In the airport waiting for the flight.

Woke up at 165 even (0.5lb water/fat loss yesterday) and good and flat. Will take it easy today and upon landing get in a good pump and pose workout and NO cardio and then get my first coat of Pro Tan. I did the mystic tan yesterday and it looks nice. I am not showering from yesterday until after my show to not wash off any tan. If I start to smell, oh well. Here is my tan regiment:

Wed Morning: Last REAL tan
Wed: Mystic
Thurs: 1 coat Pro Tan
Fri: 1 coat Pro Tan
Sat before show and as needed: 1 coat Jan Tana Instant Competition Color

Like a machine....YEAH BUDDY!

Got a phone call from an international account at 4am and was working until 1am. I slept about two hours but have all day after I pick Derek up at airport at 10am.

I am as dry as dry can be. Since this is not a qualifier, LIGHTWEIGHT cutoff is 165--I might be a LIGHTWEIGHT--HAHA! I was 166 even last night on my buddy's scale he said was 2lbs heavy. I don't care what weight I am, it is all about be CONDITIONED, and dammit, I am!

Posing last night was long and tough, but I got some issues fixed. Now, it is time to bring it home.

I will try and see if Derek can post almost-live video from pump workout and posing today.

I almost forgot...

YEAH BUDDY!

The morning of...

I weighed in at 161.4 last night and the lightweight cutoff is 165--WOW! I was very flat at weigh-ins last night and am now filled out, hard and vascular. It is time to do the damn thing!

Men's Open goes first, so I will be onstage at approximately 8:30am.

YEAH BUDDY!
