And for my math guys John has some chickens that have been laying him plenty of eggs. He wants to give away his eggs to several of his friends but he wants to give them the same number of eggs. He figures out that he needs to give 7 of his friend eggs for them to get the same amount otherwise there will be one egg left. What is the least number of eggs he needs for this to be true
49 total eggs. 7 friends each get 7 eggs, If he had 6 friends, they could each get 8 eggs, but there would be one left.
But 5 friends = remainder of 4The answer gas a remainder of one for 2-6 friends
Sigh. So many constraints. If that is the case, he has 721 eggs. That's a lot of eggs. Everyone gets 103 eggs. 720 is divisible by 2 thru 6 so 721 leaves a remainder of 1 for all those options.
301 is the lowest possible answer
You need exactly five gallons of water to mix your cement, but you only have a four gallon and seven gallon bucket. They have no marks on them. How do you do it?
Fill the 4, dump into 7
Refill 4, dump in 7 until full, leaving one in the 4
Empty the 7
Put i remaining gallon from the 4 in the 7
Refill 4, dump in 7
= 5 gallons
You're trapped in a room with 2 doors, one on your left and one on your right. One door leads to heaven, one door leads to hell. There are two birds in the room. One is a bad bird, which always lies, one is a good bird, which always tells the truth. You don't know which door is which, nor do you know which bird is which. The birds know which door is which. You get to ask one question to one bird. How do you figure out which door leads to heaven?
