Rectus femoris injection?

I know you're supposed to go with the lateralis on quad injections, but do you absolutely have to? As long as its intramuscular you should be good, right?
 
I think the main reason you go with it is because there are less veins on that area as opposed to the other parts. Plus it SHOULD be a larger target :)
 
I prefer the ventrogluteal
