Hi Guys,

I am into 3rd week with recreate and liking it so far.
I just realized that I have a bottle of Powercaps laying around, made by Ultimate Nutrition
----------------------------------------------------------
PowerCaps
Supplement Facts
Serving Size: 1 or 2capsules
Serving per package: 2

Amount
Per Serving % Daily
Value*

Power Blend 850mg †

Power Blend contains: Taurine, L-Tyrosine, Guarana Seed Extract, Yerba Matte, Caffeine Anhydrous, L-Carnitine, Korean Panax Ginseng, Cayenne Pepper, Vitamin B6 (as pyridoxine hydrochloride), Royal Jelly, Green Tea, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin B12

*Percent Daily Values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet.
† Daily Value not established

Other ingredients: cellulose, dicalcium phosphate, gelatin, and magnesium stearate.

Suggested Use:
For Energy: Take 1 (one) or 2 (two) capsules with a full glass of water before workout

NOTE: Capsules may turn black on some parts due to the natural color of some key ingredients
----------------------------------------------------------

I plan to take 1 cap recreate-1 powercaps in the morning, before cardio, 1 recreate late afternoon, and 1 recreate-1 powercaps in the evening, before lifting weights.

Judging from the ingredients in powercaps, is this OK? will they complement / contradict each other?

thanks very much,

They should work fine. I am not sure on the amount of caffeine in the PCs but you may want to take not of that. Also, the PCs contain Alpha Lipoic Acid. Personally, I have never been a fan of Alpha Lipoic Acid pre-training without some form of food intake.

Both the antioxidant properties of the PCs and Recreate will should "blend" nicely, however an antioxidant specialist may be able to speak on this more precisely.

Other than that, i cant see any contradictions.

Good luck buddy!

Hi Boro,

I just check the UN's website...they claim that each capsule contain around 77 mg of caffeine, so it's not much.

I'm curious about the ALA, though. I know it's supposed to channel food to muscle, but why they include it in powercaps?
What's the effect of takin ALA right before WO without food?
I don't think I should take powercaps with food...the suggestion says we should take powercaps before WO.

thanks boro!

Excellent. ReCreate contains about 75mg of Caffeine per pill so a pre-training dose of 150-155mg of Caffeine will be expected. This is a pretty common dose of the ingredient for pre-training applications.

As far as Alpha Lipoic Acid, my knowledge is limited. I have not used it for a few years. However, I know that Alpha Lipoic Acid has two primary applications. One of which would be inciting glucose transport. Now, I will usually shoot for lower blood sugar during cardio/GPP training when bodyfat loss is intended. This could allow for strategic ALA supplementation.

When looking at the proprietary dose of the PCs, you will notice that Caffeine is listed prior to Alpha Lipoic Acid. This means that the Alpha Lipoic Acid dose will be lesser than the 77mg dose of caffeine. Recommended Alpha Lipoic Acid dose is 50-100mg from what I can gather.

Someone else may be able to chime in with more info on Alpha Lipoic Acid because i have not been using it since i found Anabolic-Pump.

Best of luck bud!

All right bro, I appreciate that.

I better using PC pre-cardio only.

thanks!

Another role of ALA in the formula is to support anti-oxidant action. L-Carnitine, and related compounds, up-regulate mitochondrial action, and generally require an anti-oxidant (or an anti-oxidant blend) to address the elevated free-radical activity that this brings with it. Considering that only the R-isomer (50%) of ALA is meaningfully pharmacologically active [the other isomer, the S-isomer is a by-product of chemical synthesis], the amount of ALA in the formula is unlikely to be material enough to elicit any meaningful nutrient-partitioning effects. Hence, ALA's role in the formula appears to be primarily one of scavenging free radicals. Consequently, the product can be taken on an empty stomach.
