Recovering V Toxic Hepatitis

New member
This is on behalf of a good friend of mine.
He was diagnosed with toxic hepatitis (mid 2006) after a heavy cycle which included Winny. He stopped the cycle and used alot of milk thistle and stuff to help rejunovate his liver. He only used whole food and protein powder for the remainder of the year.At the end of 2006 he went for tests again and his liver enzymes and stuff came back normal. His bile figures where high.Gall bladder was producing to much bile.He did a liver cleanse and started a cycle beginning of 2007.
Doing 350mg of prop & 300mg of Primo a week. After a few days he started to feel very lethargic, lost his appetite and just felt ****. After 2 weeks he stopped everthing.

Now the question. Anybody have some good advice for my bro. Bodybuilding is his life and he seriously want to use some stuff to reach his goals, but not at the cost of his health. Will he be able so use some "stuff" again in the future or is he stuffed. Anybody with experiences like that or with some knowledge in this field please give some info.
Thanks

He told me that he is going to stay away from all chemicals for at least a year and then try someting light to see if his body can tolerate it. Anybody had a similiar experience?

This does not replace any medical advice...

We are all very different and our bodies respond to different chemicals/compounds in a different manner. He has already proven to us that the use of these substances causes much damage to his liver, though possibly reversible. Fatty change is reversible, cirrhosis is not. Unless there is soem imaging done +/- a biopsy we don't know if he has cirrhosis.

The bottom line is this - he did some damage, maybe it was reveresed, we don't know. What we do know is that it threw his liver finction tests off and now he REinsulted his liver adn feels lethargic. Knowing the risks of liver failure and hepatic cnacer, would you want to put oyur liver to the test again?

Make sure he has good follow up with his PCP and well as a gastroenterologist. Don't mess with your liver.

We have a winner!

If you look at his second cycle, it has no 17-aa steroids. If he still felt terrible during that, the cause of the sickness could have been from something other than the winny. The winstrol may have exacerbated the problem though.

Some people are genetically predisposed to drug hepatoxicity. Therefore some drugs, like a few antidepressants, can manage to knock down your liver's defenses and make it more susceptible to damage by some compounds. When this happens, and you are exposed to a certain chemical, it can wreak havoc on your liver. When you liver is in this very susceptible state, something as mild as cough syrup can cause hepatoxicity.

What else is this guy consuming?

I am an Acupuncturist(Chinese medical doctor) in Miami. I have helped people get their livers back to normal from diseases like Hepatitis and Jaundice. Also have kept bodybuilders livers less toxic while on gear with chinese herbs(not milk thistle,it is a western herb). But i would not recoommend going back on the stuff when your liver got well.

I'm not trying to attack what you do, I'm just curious how Acupuncture works?

Also what herb are you talking about for the liver?

What makes your friend think he felt like **** because of his cycle?

One of milk thistles main effects is to stimulate bile production. if he was taking copious amount of milk thistle at around the time of his test it is probably the reason he was making "too much bile".

Traditionally, acupuncture is based on ancient Chinese theories of the flow of Qi (chee) or Energy and Xui (shway) or Blood through the discrete channels or meridians which transverse the body,- similar but not identical to the nervous and blood circulatory system. According to this theory acupuncture regulates the flow of Qi shunting it to those areas where it is deficient and draining it from where there is excess. The purpose is to restore the harmonious energetic balance of the body When the balance of this energy is disturbed, pain or illness results. Acupuncture treatment corrects the energetic imbalance by encouraging the body's natural ability to heal itself, without the use of drugs or surgery. Acupuncture essentially promotes the free balanced flow of Qi land Blood. In Chinese there is a saying, "There is no pain if there is free flow,- if there is pain, there is no free flow."

Basically Acupuncture improves circulation to a specific area. It is very popular among profesional Body Builders(at least half of Olypians) in California.
As far as the herbs used. We never give a person one herb. Always they are prepared in formulas to balance each other. They are also based on the individual. Two people with toxic livers can get two different formulas based on their presentations, age, sex and other factors.

Any Studies to back these claims, Also which herb did you use for the liver.

Not a attack, just curiosity.

Do a web search. Theres studies out there but we are a pharmacuetical run society. Studies are done to make money. There is no money if Acpuncture stops people from going to MD's and taking Western Meds. Chinese medicine is over 3000 years old, way before western medicine came out. I could talk all day about Acupuncture but I dont want to jack this thread.
