Recommended app for logging workouts?

I've tried a few different apps (android) for logging my workouts and they all seem to have something about them that make them a bit frustrating to use. I don't need a big database of videos to show me how to do a workout, you know?

I just want to be able to set up various routines and easily enter the reps, weights, and maybe a difficulty rating (ala Body for Life).

I'd also prefer to always see what my reps/weights were the last time I ran this routine.

A timer for rest between sets would be nice, but not really needed.

Have any of you found an app you find is easy and useful for logging your workouts?

I go old school......pen and paper, it helps to keep u from surfing/texting while getting ur lifting do e

Pen and paper. If you need a timer, use your phone then. Some things should never be replaced by technology.

I've done P&P. Didn't care for it for a couple of reasons.

1) it's two extra things to carry around, along with my phone.

2) Sweat messes up the paper.

I'll check out gym hero.

How many different exercises do you do normally? Going for strength or endurance and reps?

For strength I usually stick to just a few different things and always try and move up the weights. Don't even keep track except for big things like db presses and rows/squats

Well, I guess I'd say strength -- More to the point: recomp. Trying to lose fat and using muscle building to support that.

In one workout, I'll have maybe 4 to 5 different exercises.

I split Upper and Lower.

But, I've tried going from memory and I don't like it. I forget what my previous numbers were and thus I put too heavy or too light a weight on. Plus, I like having a record of my progress over time.

I've been using BodySpace for a while. It lets me pre program workouts on the website and I can easily track it on the app while training.

Tried JEFIT. Hated it. Maybe I just don't understand all the features.

What I didn't like:

Entering (and esp editing) a routine on the website was awkward and frustrating because the textboxes for sets, reps, and order only show a single character.

In the app, while at the gym, I found I'd entered too long a rest period and found no way to skip it. So, I had to wait for the too long timer before I could move on to the next set.

No way to change to a new exercise (such as if the machine you need is taken and you decide to substitue).

No way to skip a set if you feel you've don't want to continue that one (or if you entered too many sets by accident)

When the timer is showing, it tells you what exercise to prepare for but not the number of sets or target weight.

I use 2, an old one called Gym Buddy (that you can't get any more) on the iPad which is my preferrred app and a newer one called Gym Hero on the iPhone (as Gym Buddy stopped working on the iPhone) and this is also online

Take a look at ActivTrax. When I first started several years ago, the gym I joined had it. Not an app, but they had a mobile website. Set your preferences (machines vs free weights, spotters or no, goals), enter a strength test and it would generate a workout for you. I used it for probably 4 years or better.

I love and still use GymBuddy - it works on my iPad with 9.3.5 and iPhone with 10.0.2.

I also like Strongur as the developer keeps improving it.

I don't have any of these problems with iPhone.
