Question: is TRT covered by most insurance???

I'm 31 and quite frankly I'm tired of the up and down of cycling. Would love to get on legit TRT and have blood routinely monitored. The only reason I'm not blasting and cruising right now is because I feel uneasy about staying on some dubious UGL test year-round, and not having bloodwork.

Is TRT covered by most medical insurance?

Will I be looked at as some "juice head" that abused his body and is now trying to scam his way into others paying for his "roids".

Any advise appreciated. I don't even know if I have low T yet.
 
Why are you wanting to be on TRT? If it's for the sole purpose of blasting and crushing then you're abusing medical care. If you're wondering if you have low T, then stay off the gear for several months, then get tested. So you will be looked at as a "juice head" and trying to scam the system. I'm telling you as someone on TRT, I wish like hell I didn't have to be on it, but I'm glad I have it available since I have low T.

Yes TRT is usually covered by insurance given that your levels are below a certain level. That magic cutoff varies from company to company.

So what should I do? Just cruise with UGL gear and get bloodwork periodically?

Do I tell the doctor I'm taking illegal steroids?
 
start by looking at your insurance policy to see if it is even covered. its not the company that covers it, they cover anything you pay for more or less, its the policy that determines coverage.
You want trt on insurance you either better have a medical need for it, or a doctor that is fine with basically cheating insurance.

No disrespect but let's look at this from the doctor's side: You have been cycling AAS and you're tired of the ups/downs of cycling. You would rather blast and cruise on test instead. Summary from the doctor: You are a steroid user. If you admit you use then this is recorded on your medical file.

Moving forward, depending on how long you've been cycling and how many cycles you've been on, your natural test production might very well be broken. The only way to see is if you stop using AAS and give your body adequate time to recover. Bloodwork is then the only way to see if you are at normal test levels. Most PH or AAS users "know in their subconscious" that they will eventually need TRT.
 
The actual test is not covered here in California. I'm 95%sure most of the trt meds are not. I pay out of pocket for my test cyp 10ml for 85! Used to be covered but not anymore

I live in NC and have Blue Cross / Blue Shield. They cover mine. $10 for a 10 ml bottle.

I haven't cycled in 2 years. Will be getting a test done soon to see where I'm at.

If I do decide to cruise, I at least want to do it as safely as possible.

What is wrong with admitting I'm on steroids? The doctor should know everything.

I may as well look into paying out of pocket I guess.

A few grand a year is a small price to pay to know I'm doing it as safely as I can.
 
If you saw the post a few up, the man said he pays 85 for 10 ml.

10 ml lasts me about 3 1/2 months at 70 mg every 4 days.

That's about $250 or so a year...

Damn man go to goodrx google it, and print off the coupon and go to walgreens and ur vial of test will be less than $85!!!! More like 40-60.....
 
Another note:

Not sure how anyone is still getting a 10ml vial as my bsbs incali only allows enought now for 28days..... I guess it all depends on how much ur on per week? I now only get 2-2 ml vials per month as im on 100 mlg per week.....

100mg is .5ml right? That's the dosage I'm on. I just asked my endo if he could prescribe me the 10ml because it would be cheaper and more convenient and he was ok with it.

If there was any way that you could not be on TRT you shouldn't , like above I'm very thankful its there because I had to have it, but I wish I hadn't needed to.

Things recently changed with a number of insurance companies. UHC was supplying a 10ml vial for the last 4 years and recently changed policy to only cover 28 days at a time. This became a PITA and I am just getting my test through my doc now.

Interesting that this has come up. I went last week to pick up my script for T and the pharmacy said blue cross was needing s preauthorization again. I didn't one nearly two years ago when I started TRT. Wondering if there's going to be a change on my end as well.

To be honest I was in the same boat as you - I cycled for years and dealt with the ups in downs, both in mood and weight. I then decided to take the plunge and it was the best choice I could make.

For those that say its an abuse of the medical system i disagree. Cycling huge doses is way worse on your body. With trt you have more control, you take lower doses over time and achieve a better result. The medical system is there to help US. If you're an adult and you made a decision to use roids they should be there to make sure you do it safely. All moral bs aside..

Most insurance plans will cover it - some more than others. Also, theres no "permanent medical file" just tell your doctor your situation and tell them you don't want anything to be recorded. Find yourself a good doctor that specializes in trt and get all necessary blood work - you need a doc thats onboard to do it right.

Easier said then done! I had to go through 3 different Drs make numerous calls to insurance companies and pharmacies.
