So, thanks for any input.
I know how medical practitioners are trained to speak to the family but I have a straight forward question. So my pop is 93 as of yesterday.
My dad was found semi responsive about 25 hrs ago. Thus far since being admitted to hospital they have found his BP will not stabilize. His vitals are so far like this as what I can remember:
All within the past 25 hrs.
Heart Beat stable @ 95-100
RR @ 17-30 (dropped to 13 once)
BP 65/37 (has been 95/65)
Organ perfusion @ 40
Oxygen @ 29% machine 71% him.
They have used levophed, then tried dopamine, now using phenylephrine hcl.
He has had 2 transfusions (made him start to try and talk and move his hands)
He's had normal fluids, dextrose, bicarbonate etc.
What are the chances that he pulls out of this and if he does what are the chances he has a decent quality of life afterwards?
I already am aware of issues with trying high dosages of medicines like levophed and I am aware of what happens if your blood pressure stays to low for to long.
I think I heard the renal doctor say his kidneys were nearly failing.
The family has already prepared for the worse.
Thanks
I appreciate the feedback guys/ladies.
