Question about Test Cyp deltoid injections?

Can you use a 5/16" length needle to do IM Test-C injections in your deltoids?

I've heard that it wouldn't reach deep enough into your muscle, making it a Sub-Q shot...

and I've read that it would go into your muscle, just not very deep.

How long do you think the Test Cyp takes to kick in? I wonder if I've been wasting my gear because of the tiny length needle...
