I'm a little confused, since waxy maise is a complex carb, how can it cause a quick insulin spike? I also want to know can I have a shake with waxy maise and protein instead of having a meal with something like brown rice and chicken if i dont have time to get my meal in.
I don't think it does cause an insulin spike. I think thats the whole reason for using it. It passes through the gut quickly and (supposedly) digest quickly without an insulin spike to cause fat storage.
oatmeal would be a better choice than WMS for a meal replacement, although it could be done. it tastes floury in comparied to oatmeal and the oats expand making you feel full!
i'd only use WMS before, during, and/or after training.
