Question about egg protein...

Hey guys, welcome... I order around 20lbs. of protein/month. I usually get whey and egg whites. However, I recently found out that I'm allergic to whey and is causing me problems w/ digestion, etc.

Since I have found this out, I have been buying strictly egg white powder. I see however that you don't carry it. So, would there be any chance that you guys would carry the egg powder any time soon?

Hi,

You're probably not allergic to whey, because that is very rare. You're probably lactose intolerant.

What whey were you using? There's a chance that it has a lot of lactose.

We're not going to do egg, because it doesn't have the benefits of whey.

No, thats what the weird thing is about it. I can drink an awful lot of milk/day and not really have a problem with it. But when I drink 12oz. milk + 3 Tbsp. oil + 5 scoops whey Isolate, it doesn't agree with me anymore.

It causes me to get somewhat constipated. I can still "go" but when I do its very little. And I get HORRIBLE cramps and bloating to go along with it. I remember complaining about it on the board when I was beta testing the M 1,4 for sledge. While I thought it had something to do with the compound, it was actually caused from the whey I was drinking. I remember reading about it somewhere before in a magazine; can't think where though. I went to my docs and he said that it was most likely from it. Especially when I have milk plus the oil to slow things down even more I guess. Accuiring it was just in my future.... :( :)

that is strange.. just for grins you might want to see if they OTC meds for lactose intolerance might help out..

That much dairy can cause bloating. The oil maybe doing it to. You need to do a process of elimination.
 
Too much whey for some reason also has negative effects on me. I find I digest better when using a blend. Even if it's just 30% egg. My current whey blend is 40/30/30 WPC/Hydro/Egg and although an equivalent amount of straight whey would bug me this doesn't. I am lactose intolerant but have never had a problem w/whey blends.
 
Has anybody not noticed but 12oz. of milk and 5 scoops of isolate? What brand are you taking? When you say scoops are you referring to spoon or the actual scooper included with most proteins? 1 large scoop is equal to almost 30 gms of powder which is equal to about 23-25 gms of protein. You are definity going overboard on you protein intake in one serving bro. Lets just say 20 x 5 + 15 (for the milk) = 115gms in one serving. Unless your body resembles that of say Ronnie Coleman I truely doubt your using anywhere near that intake. Do a search, Im sure youll find the studies that I was using when I was having this debate about the protein needs of an athletic persons body. Almost all of them said that side effects of extremly high intakes of protein were stomach pains, indigestion, diaria, sweats and cramps. The thread was at bb.com but it was closed and later deleted by a mod because it got kinda violent. but the studies should still be on the web somewhere.

In using 5 scoops, I mean that I use five 10 gram scoopers. I have a little scooper that I always use. So it's around 50 grams in each shake. Give or take a little depending on how pure the powder is itself. Even one or two shakes will do that to me now. Never had a problem in the past with it. But one or two will make me think I'm dying.... :shoot:
 
see that is what would make me think it wasn't an allergy.. you normal just do pop up with one that quick

Some people, when they get older, develop a lactose intolerance, which can make you feel bloated. You should try Lactaid tablets from the grocery store. They're cheap.
