Quest for Success vol#2 - Pumpin to the Ahhhnold

I would be right there with you :D ..... you gotta enjoy life every once and awhile, and unless you have a bbing competition in the next few weeks, it's totally fine to partake. As long as you're not doing it every night it's not going to hurt you at all!

Enjoy!

Thanks Buddy! That's what I was thinking...but I wanted to make sure it wasn't a huge failure, haha

Awesome videos by the way! That DL looks intense!

The DL wasn't too bad although I definitely had more in me, should've went all out for 605lbs, too late now though, probably give that a go next time. I'm rack pulling 635+ right now so I think I'm going to crush that lift next time. Anyway, off to the gym I go......

Thats right around or just over double what I can DL, haha

January 17, 2009 - When fighting a losing battle

Today was uphill all day long...and at this point in my life, I am currently accepting and welcoming those kind of days. If I am battling through the day, it is leaving me less time to think and more time to just see, feel, and react. The only way to win in a day like today is to start out knowing that you cannot accomplish all feats in front of you...and that you MUST accomplish the ones most worth fighting towards. So...I did.

Nutrition felt good except maybe slightly carb heavy. Otherwise a real solid day. Had 2 sessions today. Short cardio fasted, and a weight spot after work. Lots of things to worry about...and lots of me not worrying

Visualize...then Attack!

I have a photo for today...but i'm too lazy to send from my phone to my email, then edit, then put on photobucket, then post. I will put it in tomorrow ;)

And I digress...
Looks like I have a new boss starting next week. He is supposed to be coming in and fixing our issues that we have. Tuesday starts the company's layoff's and he starts on Wednesday. I have a feeling that is leaving my department in dissaray....and leaving me potentially out of a job.

January 18, 2009 - One of my loves returns

Today was the start of the Australian Open which means I can finally watch tennis again. I am watching Djokovic beat a qualifier now...and watched Roddick decimate another qualifier earlier. I miss tennis so much. I called a local resort to check court availability and pricing for the next few days for indoor. I have to get out and hit a little.

Today was also my last day working the day shift. I have tomorrow off and then Tuesday I go back in on the overnight. Can't say i'm looking forward to it....but it's something that needs to be done right now. I have some resume's out and I have some new KB clients signing up now...but I need this money right now. Sucks.

IT'S BACK!!!!

And I digress...
Not much to say tonight. I plan to get some yoga and cardio in tomorrow. I may do some compound lifts as well...all depends on time and feelings. I am currently trying to build up my client base so I have been working on flyers and such as well. It's a busy time.

I noticed your Kashi blueberry waffles from a couple days back...I absolutely love those!!!!

I was :zx11pissed: when costco stopped selling them

looks like deuce is back...welcome back brutha!

Thank you sir! Yeah man those waffles are the bomb. I love them because I don't need anything with them. I grab them from the toaster and eat. No butter or syrup or anything!

I was going to have them this morning after my fasted cardio...but I chose not to. Probably tomorrow morning. I set court time from 11am-1pm to play some indoor tennis (thank god!), so I could use the carbs ;)

Have fun playing tennis. You can count that as cardio for the day. I think we might go shoot the 45 today. I'm out of practice and the kids are at their dads. So maybe some work then some playtime!

I find myself mentally falling into a depression at just how scrawny I look off the anavar. I really hate the way I look and wish I was male so I could cycle without the sides. I just don't like the lightly muscled ultra girly look. :(

I think you're doing a fantastic job C-Rock...Anavar or not.

Thats because you can't see me. I have the determination to drive through my training. But when you work that hard only too watch the muscle drop it really drags you down. Protein is on and training is on but without the var my femaleness just wants to cut it down...:bad:

Yes I know that smiley does not fit the post..but it is cute!

I wish you were here, I would add in a few days kettle style to bump up arms and back.

I think you'd really enjoy the KB training if you got into it. It's challenging and fast paced enough to keep fat loss going...but it has enough weight resistance to help build muscle and keep it on during cardio type sessions.

Maybe one day i'll be famous for KB's and I will be able to afford to travel from state to state, haha. Then I can teach you!

Update :

If you planned on watching me compete at the Arnold Classic in Kettlebells, you will not have the chance. The person who was keeping me in the loop on when registration opened and all those good things must have forgotten to get in touch with me. Either way, registration is already full and there is no room for me to compete.

Sorry everyone. As of right now, I will still be there to hangout and meet everyone though.

Thats to bad, but now you will be able to check it out and see if you like the class. And you can relax and enjoy the chaos of the Arnold.

haha i've never been there, but I hear the chaos is quite wild.

Im hoping I can even get there at this point. I am trying to keep up with the essential bills right now all while trying to find a new place to live because "the estate" needs to sell the home before it is settled. So yeah...i'm kinda assed out right now.

January 19, 2009 - Preperation is proper

Did 2 sessions today. Primarily fasted cardio in the AM and primarily light cardio and yoga in the PM. I was going to lift but since I have 2 hours on court time reserved for tomorrow, I don't want to be a waste on the court. My endurance and strength are wayyyy down since taking a few weeks off there...so i'm sure I will be draggin ass on court anyway.

Even with the twins coming, my girlfriend seems fairly optomistic about me still being able to play leagues and tournaments this summer. I think she's crazy...but I guess we have to see how it plays out. I hope so. I love tennis.

ps - I am labeling something as "pit style dance" on cardio for this morning. It is really taxing to dance like that so I had some tunes on and was doing a bit of it this morning. Got a good sweat going!

**I am currently at an alarming and saddening 234lbs. This is what that weight looks like on me. I don't mind the extra size...but the fat is awful.

And I digress...
I need to drop fat. Thats all I can be concerned with right now. I plan to start a completely 100% natural regimine for nutrition within the next few weeks. That will sadly mean no more boca burgers or any other man-made items I enjoy. I went all natural right before last summer and went down about 20lbs in 3 months. I have to make that happen again.

Not to be a buzz kill but I think your shirt's on backwards. :)

Looking strong though man. I'm interested in seeing what your meal plan will look like when you're doing 100% natural

I have to make some diet-changes as well. Girl's trying to get me to quit taking all the aspartame crap and other artificial flavorings, sweeteners, dyes, sulfates...blah! That stuff is in almost EVERYTHING!!! I don't know how the heck I'm going to flavor my intra-wo drink.

You've got some solid looking forearms, Deuce! Don't worry about the weight; things will turn around quickly.

Thanks bro...I appreciate the compliment, and the vote of confidence.

I think i'm just being very crazy about it all since my father passed and I have gotten back into it and stuff. He was not in the best of health and I kind of want that as the image to myself to push harder than I used to. Not to make myself crazy over it...but to motivate myself to know that I have to reach a level that I feel comfortable at. I'm just not there right now.

With time and dedication comes results though...and that's just about all i've got ;)

yeah...so am I, haha. I know what it's going to look like for my poor wallet :sorry:

You can do it, you know you can! Let me know if you want my contest diet, obviously you would have to up the protein and cook ahead.

But I think you are doing great!

There's a girly in the mix now?! Good for you brother!

Yeah thats the tough spot. Right now i'm living on Xtend and AlltheWhey which both have sucralose in them. I also sweeten coffee occasionally with Splenda. What a mess.

Thanks C. I'm doing what I can right now basically. Just to stay in my house while looking for a place to live I have to cover the Electric bill ($370 for 2 months) so spending any extra on food has not been possible. I'm figuring it out one step at a time...it's just a mess.

If you want to shoot it over to me, I will definitely check it out. I don't know that i'll follow it 100%...but it might be a good layout to start from!

I don't even know where to start. It means no more marinades, sauces, most cheeses, crystal light (what I flavor my intra-wo drink with)...it's going to be nearly impossible!!! Arghh. I know I need to listen to her, though. She knows her stuff.

I hear you on that! I'll type it tomorrow for you and send it. Shoot me an e-mail at [email protected]. It will be easier to do it in e-mail form.

Thats what i'm saying!! It's a tough road to travel...especially when you love some of those things so dearly as I do (and it seems you do also). Blasphemy!

I'm sure I will write a full update at some point, but I am back on overnight's starting tonight...so I wanted to write about earlier today now and get it done for you all.

I got on court today and it was GREAT! Not only was it nice to hit, but it was a huge stress relief that I was in very big need of. I spent my first 20 minutes out getting a feel for the ball again, the next 20 minutes decimating all my shots to relieve some tension, the next 20 minutes or so practicing shots and serves....and then for the last hour it was matchplay.

We didn't get to finish the 2nd set because of time constraints but I won the first set 6-3 with a big break of his serve towards the end. I was leading the second set 3-1 after breaking early, but my legs were beginning to feel sore from not moving them that much in so long so I may have dropped that set if we had the time to finish it up. All in all, a great cardio session, a great loosening of my muscles, and a great start to the day!

....now I get to go work. Ugh.

What are her arguments for you to stop? I'd like to stay away from stuff like that too, but I need to know why first.

Good job man. Remember that stress management is very important to your health. It does you no good to workout and eat right when you are stressed beyond belief about getting it that way. There must be a balance. I'm glad you got back on the court, that should definitely help.

Keep at it man.

Thanks buddy. I wasn't stressed about the fitness aspect of my life...but rather everything else going on right now. My plate is far overfull and I am beginning to spill off the sides if you know what i'm saying. I needed tennis today pretty bad!

Oh and the diet was sent, and by the way ALL the meat is cooked in Mrs. Dash and nooooo sauces.:flowers1:

I don't mind not having sauces...they just get in the way of me devouring my animal friends :twak:

I will probably give it a serious tweak at little spots...but it seems fairly easy to follow at least :)

damn bud, I was checking out yesterdays update...you have more days like that and progress is on it's way!

you look like a man on a mission, keep it up!

Thanks bro! I am looking into getting more days like that in...it's just a matter of time right now. With so much going on at once, getting 2 a days in isn't simple at the moment :(

I was going to write a full update for yesterday since I just got off work...but being awake now almost 24 hours is just too much for my body. I have to get some rest. I apologize.

rest up bud and do it all again tomorrow. Don't worry about updates as long as you get your workouts in. Those are the things that are important (besides family)

January 21, 2009 - Sleep is vital

I am not making a full update because I didn't keep track of what I ate really. I did however go to the store and buy some items to follow a "diet plan" that is slightly more structured than before. I will start that up today when I wake up.

Did 50 pushups and 50 situps and then started doing some Kettlebell Snatches when I thought to myself for a minute and realized that I really would rather do Yoga....so that's what I did. A full yoga session at around 40 minutes total.

Now I need sleep. I need it bad.

Enough of this jibba jabba, get some sleep man!
