Protein Bars

Can protein bars be refrigerated?

I live in the Arizona where it's very hot, and if I could refrigerate a protein bar before I take off for school it'd be nice.

The bars I have now contain both soy isolate and whey isolate, if that makes a difference.

NO, NO, NO! If you have any in the fridge now, get out of the house immediately and call 911!

JK. No, it will not be a problem.

or tons of saturated fat, or tons of carbs....

The only difference with a chocolate bar and a protein bar is pretty much just the protein. I would get a scoop of whey in a shaker, and simply add water and drink. This is a better choice IMO.

Yeah...that holds true with most of them. I must admit it though, I'm a sucker for a Promax Chocolate Mint bar. I buy a couple of them every so often and use them to satisfy my sweet tooth. That and a big glass of cold milk is heaven.

It definately is better to grab a detour than a mars bar, but it still is candy, and dont buy it as cases as you might end up like me, and eat 2 a day. ;)

The ones he was asking about use soy isolate. Nothing wrong with that. Not that I think bars are the best but when I am on a bulk ....

Thank you all for your replies.

It just so happens that I am on a bulking stage, and these bars are the worst, so they're the best for bulking.

Soy sucks!!!! I just posted a good recipe, healthy for body builders in the recipe section.

Also, I wasn't worried so much about the affect of refrigerating protein bars would have on my health, but what affect it would have on the protein in the bars.

Heh, don't worry about it. To be honest, I remember reading something that said most of the protein in the bars degrade by the time they get around to consumption.

Do whatever the hell you want with them, try to use them as a backup plan only.
