Propanolol Beta-blocker use and testosterone increases?

I have been taking the beta-blocker Propanolol on and off throughout the past year for lecture presentations or big exams because I seem to have an overly responsive adrenaline release. I take 40mg when I use it. It's works really well I literally cure my anxieties and physical symptoms allowing me to act very calm and composed which allows me to also think clearly...like you normally should haha. But anyways I've been trying to figure out more about this compound and its effects on the body and I've come across so many studies suggesting it can increase testosterone, GH, and even suppress catabolism which is great for me if this is true..so far I've not noticed any sides but I don't take it daily or prior to the gym. What are you guys thoughts if I one were required to take this more regularly for social situations due to faulty fight or flight mechanisms ?

Also check out these studies I've found on propranolol and testosterone etc. What are your thoughts on these studies? And experiences with this compound?

If you find others post them

You have to remember that ppl taking a drug do so for a reason typically. Propranolol or any b1 blocker blunts the release of norepinephrine and epinephrine which will decrease catabolism but also decreases your energy level and the catecholamines ability to increase blood flow in response to exercise. Furthermore, blocking b2 deceases the ability to increase blood flow to skeletal muscle. The net effects of these changes on training likely will at least counteract the effects you've mentioned.

Ok that makes sense. Thanks again mystere...so overall you think this is a bad compound to take regularly and could potentially inhibit noticeable strength and gains?

If that's you in the pic I don't see how that drug is going to overcome the effects of the gear you take

True...It is. I'm on pct now just off 8 wks turinabol only. I guess my main concern is unexpected sides like possible fat gain I've read some people having issues (not bb's) and apparently now low blood flow to skeletal muscle so strength will be affected. I did have to take 20mg the other night close to a gym session..I took my pre-workout and still had the motivation to train intensely or at least enough to fatigue but it was a little lighter and less pump (that could be bc im in pct tho). I was very calm and controlled my reps well haha.

I just joined my uni's intramural soccer team and took a prop b4 (I played for my most of my life) after 6 years of bodybuilding now and 40+ lbs of muscle it was great, very rusty but damn I got winded much faster..fast sprint is there i think improved! And yes ppl were very confused when I showed up...but i just wanted to play some soccer damnit. I had another presentation just before and took 40mg propranolol then went to play soccer, its honestly hard to tell if its affecting my physical performance...I'm not using very controlled variables here haha but I looked into mysterys comment he is right i was just hoping to get some ppl who have experience with this drug

It's a drug used for very few things these days; hyperthyroidism, situational anxiety, migraines occasionally, and occasionally essential tremor; the non-selectivity makes most ppl dislike it.

Ok I understand the beta1 and beta 2 receptors being both bound. Do you know which beta blockers are most prescribed these days or most preferred by patients?
