Hi All,
Ive been on a long term cut. I've lost over 100lbs but my strength as you imagine in that time has greatly plateaud and decreased in some areas - in truth im happy ive retained a lot of muscle I initially put on. I want to take another 20-25lbs off before I think I could probably attempt to clean bulk. The exercises I have done to get this far are the standard isolation exercises with chest press/squats and dead lifts as my compounds. Most of these are standard 8-12 with drop sets and super sets to change it up slightly.
What I want to do is change my training up to shock my body and to see if its possible to gain any strength while shredding.
I see a lot of the PT's at my gym training cleans/deadlifts/front squats, etc. Is there a type of training program that is a bit more unorthodox or more advanced that I will benefit from? I have spoken to one or two of the guys who seem to think training cleans/jerks isn't the way to go on a cut because of how taxing it is on the CNS but it looks a lot more interesting. Should I try high rep range exercises 20-25 reps?
I still want to shred harcore, I know most of this is in the diet which is why Im eating relative strictly low carb and factoring in high amounts of LIIS/HIIT. medium fat/high protien. My macros are:
300g protein
120g carbs
75g fat.
Can anyone recommend something which will help me continue to shred whilst possibly gaining strength? or shall I stick at what im doing.
