Product Reps

I guess I don’t understand the purpose of this forum. It seems to exist mainly for reps to keep pushing the same products in every thread. I can understand every once in a while, or if ppl had a question about a product that someone is a rep for - but it seems every thread you find the same few ppl pushing the same product over and over. Is there a way to set certain ppl to “ignore” so I don’t see their comments? Are these guys getting paid for every comment they make?

It’s hard to take this place seriously when it comes off as one giant advertising market. Is there a forum that can be created which is less biased? Otherwise I’m not seeing the benefit of reading threads here.

You've been a member since 2015. 3 years.
You're just getting sick of it now?

:afro:

Yeah 3 yrs and only 90 something comments. I can never tell if the ppl commenting in the threads are legit or are just. Here. For. Commission.

I don’t get paid*. I love helping where I can and if they present a situation where the company I rep produces a great product that is a good fit, then... Wait a second. People make money doing this!?

That may explain some reps anger issues with me (*I don't get paid). Lol.

Edit: When I started my account in 2016, not that long ago, I really enjoyed commeradere of some great people, many are no longer here, and some are. I do think the place has changed since I started, and it's a bit disappointing. On the other hand, I have made some connections, as well as learned how to improve on a number of levels towards my own goals.

I do appreciate many of the articles on the main page, and in the discussion forums.

Often the reps get picked cuz they know a thing or two about a thing or two.. and yes of course they push products at times but I've seen them just as often not mention their own product if it suits what someone is asking about moreso.. it kinda just depends what youre looking for.. cuz if you're in the supp forum looking for a supplement that will do one thing or another then of course they'll respond with a product if they know one that does what you're looking for.. but look in the training, anabolics, or anti aging forums not much plugging there.. nutrition is half ways ok.. lot of protein powder plugs but most of it is solid.. also use the forum search feature.. there is a ton of knowledge here if you have the patience to dig a little and see who before you has asked the same question..

AM still the best supplement oriented forum I’ve found. If there are better please pm me the addy. Up to date with the latest and greatest, source for incredible deals, and if you filter out all the b.s., has so much knowledgeable info feels like enough to get an associates degree in nutrition and supplementation.

to be a rep on this forum means the company the rep is associated with is a sponsor of the forum, that is how the forum exists!!!

sponsors pay the bills and keep the forum going!!!

Yeah but if you were watching a great show that constantly aired the same commercials from the same companies not only would you be turned off by those companies you would eventually not like watching that show. So essentially I’m saying I wish there was a DVR option for this forum.

Start contributing to the forum more. Stop complaining about it and help make it what you want it to be. As for reps; if you don't like them, then ignore them. The better reps will give honest answers and won't just answer questions regarding their products. A lot of us were contributing members here long before we became reps.

Now if you're still exhausted from all the rep posts, I have an excellent pre-workout to help get you your energy back.

Do what everyone else does during commercials. Get up and take a leak or get a drink and ignore them.

You have to understand that with print media declining companies are trying to find the next way to advertise. Some do it through Instagram and Youtube personalities. Other do it through forum reps. Personally I don't think forum advertising is the best place since most readers are educated consumers. At least with Youtube and Instagram you're dealing with a lot of brainless sheep who just follow the shepherd.

There is 1 company in particular that is so relentless with their forum rep presence that I've come to ignore their plugs and products because of how off putting it is.

See how clean this forum is compared to the other brand forums?.. that's cuz.. yep.. it's a tide ad..

I can’t speak for other reps, but personally I only push the products that I have used and that have worked for me. When I used to rep for AppNut, there were certain products I did not like at all. I would never mention those certain products and only suggest the ones that have worked for me and others I personally know. I’m one of the more trusted reps on here and have been on here for a while. I don’t push bunk products. I wanted to rep for AppNut because the majority of the line was actually really good. Same for Performax Labs. I used the entire line before I looked into becoming a rep. But I know there are PLENTY of reps who are just in it for the game which is disheartening.

Most don’t get paid per se (but, don’t let that fool you, they get compensated in supplements from the company line)

And yes, there are a handful that are shills and will pollute every thread with specific products. It’s easy to spot the reps though (their signatures help too) just try and over look them and the forum is still a pretty good place to be

I agree with this. Personally even when I was a trainer, I would never recommend something I wouldn’t use or have not used. I like that some reps share how products work for them. It gives me a chance to see peoples views of the products. Reps set up the logging oops that many members enjoy. Even if you look at the magazines these days, it’s more ads than articles.

Where do you want to start...morons asking how to get a thicker load, foreign knuckleheads that talk to themselves in threads and think people want to listen to them, 16yr old fat/chubby highschool kids wanting to take 20,000 supplements at a time instead of working out/eating, etc.

This place has become watered down with kids that can't do a lick of research, just dumb and lazy....hence the moronic questions you wouldn't have seen a few years ago.

Once the Moderator started doing NOTHING about the ridiculous posts even after many people complained, I just left for awhile...tad bit better now...dumb foreign idiot isn't around asking how to get his load thick, etc. but you still see the same dopes being dopes, not as often as they finally got called out by members.
