Preemie baby..........whoah...

well guys a while back i told you my fiancee was pregnant, well it was 30 weeks to the day and jr. decided it was time to come out. scared the **** out of me. wasnt ready in the slightest way. baby room still has to be gutted and re drywalled.

well anyway he was born 3 lbs. 6 oz. and 17" long.... he has to stay at the hospital till around the last week of march because he was so premature. but he is doing awesome chowing like a hound and already grew a half inch in one week.....

running back and forth to the hospital and back home and to work is getting me drained. i made it to the gym today finally after about 2 weeks. feel like a little girl.... couldnt lift anything..............

anyone got some ideas for some energy..... lol
 
Hey congradulations man! Not to worry. My wife's best friend had 2 premies. (she only has one kidney so the first came early and the seccond was c-sectioned because her kidney was failing.) Each were barely 2 lbs. Their daipers were the size of coffee filters. You would never know it today. Modern medicine can do miraculous things. It sounds like yours is doing well.Congrats again. Hope everyone stays well. Now get to work on that nursury!! :D

I wish I could gain a half inch in a week. :D Congrats bro, as for energy what always helps me is fruit juices. Also try and get some rest.

Congrats Dad.everything will workout fine....Good luck to you and your new family....Who knows in 20 years he will be on this board getting training advice and saying what a pain in the ass his old man is....LOL
 
Congrads.. been through the NICU not once but twice... if you need anything or just need to ask something.. I have been through it..

hey guys thanks for all the kind words, i went to the hospital yesterday and finally got to hold him. dam what a feeling that made it sink in that "im a dad".....

hey Matthew D what size were your babies when they were born? and how long till they got to go home. just very curious on how long he is gonna be in there. they told me the generic answer of his due date but i was curious if yours got to come home way before that?????

First child.. little girl.. she was 2 lbs 13 oz when born got down to 2 lbs 7 oz.. 12 weeks early. got to home after 9 weeks.
Second child little boy he was a big old 4 lbs 4 oz when born.. spent 4 weeks in there.

It all really depends on the child and how they are doing. If he is doing good, no anathema or other problems then you are set.. I think the go home weight for our NICU was 4 lbs 6 oz unless you have been around before or you are there alot..then they do let them out before hand.. :D Hit me with a PM if you have an specific questions you do don't want to broadcast.. It is a rough time going back and forth for home to the hospital.. with my daughter I did it everyday at least 2 times a day and sometimes 3 times. I was offwork at that time.. they my wife did the same thing with my son...
