PowerFULL and acne?

Haven't seen much info regarding PowerFULL's effect on acne. I know it might seem trivial to some people but it's a huge deal to me. Is there any definitive info available on whether or not PowerFULL causes acne? I really want to try it but I'm not willing to sacrifice my complexion in the process. Anyone?

My complexion became clearer but lets here from the other beta testers..

I'd love to hear from the beta testers about this. I'm currently taking C2 (5 caps/day) and I'm getting a bit of acne on my face. I'm inclined to discontinue it because of this, but I want to give it enough time to see if I get any results.

I'm with you psy...I'm still recovering from acne from my last cycle which was 4 months ago...although I believe arginine had some to do with it...I really can't take anymore breakouts at the moment...but so far so good...I'll remember to mention this later on in my log as well.

I'd really appreciate that since I'm following your log.

This stuff sounds pretty promising but like most things that work, there are usually some not-so-desirable effects as well. I'm really susceptible to acne for some reason (even creatine makes me break out), so I try to avoid anything with even the slightest potential of causing acne. I didn't see it coming with the C2 but I'm hoping it's just a fluke.

I did not notice any acne at all while running powerFULL, I think my complexion actually got better.

Interesting about the C2. I definitely got some acne from it. I really wanted to take it for at least a month to see some results but I couldn't deal with the acne. I stopped taking it as of this morning. I guess the rest of it is going in the Swap Meet.

I decided to go ahead and order a couple bottles of PowerFULL to give it a try. I'm going to run it with some guggul just in case. I'm a little confused about the proper dosage though. I've read that it should be taken on an empty stomach 15-20 minutes before working out but I also see people taking it 3x/day. How should I take it?

Take it with guggul just in case? What do you mean?

Dosing should be IMO anyways, (and how I've been doing it)...40min-1hour before food.....and two hours after food...so far, I keep getting more and more pumped each day...I feel fuller and am actually noticing some fat loss now on maintenance cals...I'll go more in depth about it tonight when I enter in my log...

Sorry - should have been a little more clear there. I'm taking the guggul to help ward off any potential acne.

What do you mean by "Dosing should be IMO anyways"? What's IMO? Maybe I'm having a brain-fart or something but I don't know what that means. I understand it should be taken every day but I'm assuming it should always be taken on an empty stomach like you mentioned. And always 15-20 minutes before working out, right?

After some reading into the matter, I've found that simply taking a double dose of vitamin A, around 20,000 to 30,000 iU per day, really helped my skin a lot. I have had chronic cystic acne from the age of 12 and have been on accutane and every antibiotic out there but it always came back...and I've got the scars to prove it.

Vitamin A toxicity is something to worry about, but according to the Merck manual you need to be taking around 100,000 iU daily for awhile to develope symptoms. According to the manual, symptoms cease once dosage is reduced or stopped and no permanent damage results...add grain of salt here.

I've been doing this for about 3 months..for one month prior to my cycle and during this time my skin got almost entirely free of acne which was a first without a prescription. Now, on my 4AD/19 Nor/1 test/ 3 alpha and SD cycle, acne is really not bad at all. A few lesions, skin is slightly oily but not like it usually is on cycle. The real test will be post cycle...SERMS give me the worst outbreaks ever.

I'm hoping PowerFULL will add to the anti-acne benefits.

lol...IMO means in my opinion.

Yeah you're right, take it on empty stomach... my schedule however sometimes does not allow me to take right before training, but IMO :) as long as it's around that time, I should be good to go...but USP may think otherwise, so don't take my word for it.

So far, so good...I hope that when I finish this bottle the stock still isn't sold out, so I can just continue on with it...

I'm really surprised Accutane didn't do the trick for you - it was an absolute miracle drug for me. The only time I get breakouts now are from supplements. I broke out pretty bad from PH (M1T, M4OHN). The acne from Nolvadex was terrible. Yohimbine makes me break out pretty bad too. C2 made me breakout. I'm hoping PowerFULL won't make me break out, but I'm using the guggul as sort of an insurance policy. I've read some mixed things about PowerFULL as it relates to the skin though - some people claim it actually improved their skin while some other people broke out. The thing is sometimes it's hard to tell if a breakout is just random or if a supplement is causing it. The science on guggul is a little fuzzy that way too.

I'm not sure how it wards off acne, but it does (among its other benefits). Studies have shown that guggul produces effects similar to those of tetracycline in treating cystic acne. It's definitely worth trying since it's inexpensive and it helps burn fat as well. Try it with some Bee Propolis to see if it helps.

Oh, BTW: you need Vitamin A, not E.

bump for more acne feedback.. I just got over a pretty bad breakout on my back and a few HUGE pimples in the middle of my chest, one actually left a scar (boils maybe??) about 4 months ago, doc shot them up with sum medicine and they went away. This was odd as I have had about 20pimples my entire life prior to this. Took prescription minocylcine for 30days along with Duac topical gel and it did the trick however I have no desire for another acne battle like that!!!

thx for the info bro...have you used guggul before with good results? If so, what brand and at what dose? thx

oh and OOPS..lol...I thought bioman was talking about vit E...I think I have some vit A laying around here somewhere, so maybe I'll apply that in as well.

I've used minocycline before with good results...however the closest derm near me is an hour drive...so since a relative of mine is a doctor, I was thinking of asking him to write me a script for some bactrim...he can say it's for a urinary tract infection...does anybody have any exp with bactrim? Is there any thing that I should know that it could effect me, as in any supps that I should avoid, etc...

I've actually had really good results with guggul. Very rarely do I get a zit of any significance while I'm on it. I've used both Guggul Extract by NOW and also Guggulbolic Extreme by Syntrax - they're both really high quality guggul extract and very reasonably priced. I take 1 cap 2-3 times per day. Also, try some Bee Propolis at 500mg/day - that seems to help as well.

thx for the advice, I'll see what kind of regimen I can figure out...

Sad to say though, it seems that my face has recently started to become oilier than normal since starting the powerfull...sucks, but I'm going to be starting back on the minocycline for a bit, so I should be okay to continue it..

My shoulders have even begun to sprout some zits, which is vary rare for me, so I think it could def be from the powerfull.

But this isn't necessarily a bad thing...could mean that the powerfull is freeing up bound test, of course w/o bloodwork, a concrete answer cannot be given...but hope nonetheless.

ive never ever heard of this stuff, and ive used it ALL before, atleast i thought i did.

Sounds really interesting bro. I have been on all the meds out ther also but it always comes back. I may have to give the Vit A a shot and see if I can finally get off of these antibiotics.

I have done two 4 month couses of Accutane in my life and I still get cystic acne. Glad it worked for you though bro.

I did a year long cycle of accutane about 16 years ago. It did help reduce the acne quite a bit. I was horribly cystic before it and it did cut that back quite a bit, but as my derm told me..accutane will only keep chronic cystic acne at bay for 5-10 years then it pops back up, usually in a different place than you had it before. Was definitely true for me. I also had suicidal depression at this time, likely linked to the accutane..fun fun fun!

Given the severity of potential side effects I have elected to avoid it as long as I can.

Guggul did work quite well for me but the effects seemed to diminish after a few months. I never tried it again so I can' say how it fares in the long term. I'm also not real confident in the research done to date on guggul...lots of contradictory info on lipid values, thyroid values..Vitamin A just sounded like a better long term option but I may throw guggul in from time to time.

My back is basically one big scar so I guess it doesn't matter all that much.

I agree about the guggul only working for a certain period of time - that's why I tend to only use it when I'm on something that could potentially cause acne. I was on it for about 3 months recently and I just finished my "cycle" a couple weeks ago. About a week later I started the C2 and broke out from it, so I stopped it. Now that I'm going to try PowerFULL I'm definitely going to run some guggul with it. Maybe some Bee Propolis too.

RE: Vitamin A. Did you notice any problems with night vision? That's one of the big things to look out for when taking high doses of Vitamin A. My derm recently put me on high doses of Vitamin A to help with some stubborn warts and I was fortunate in that I didn't have any problems with sides.

Also, I can't believe you were on Accutane for a year. The cycles are only supposed to be 16-20 weeks in length - I can't imagine being on anything that harsh for a full year. Again, I was lucky in that I didn't have any bad side effects other than some dry skin, dry lips, etc. but Accutane is notoriously harsh (though very effective).

Accutane is evil..it was probably a 6 month cycle..I can't remember, long time ago.

No problems with night vision. I see like a cat in the dark. I'm only taking 2-3 gel caps per day which is 20,000 to 30,000 iU. The literature seems to indicate that upwards of/over 100,000 iU is needed to cause symptoms and it's exceedingly rare for any vit A toxicity cases to show up..like people who eat seal or polar bear livers and wierd stuff like that. I don't eat a lot of veggies so I probably have room to spare.

DO excercise caution by all means. Headaches, nausea, tremors are all early signs of over dose. Supposedly, these cease immediately upon cessation of dosing so I think you'd have to work pretty hard to permanently damage yourself.

Mr. 50 and bioman...would you do me a favor and go look at my powerfull log when you get the chance? I have some questions regarding the use of tetracycline...appreciatte it, thx.
