I think too many people were getting personal with each other. Some were divided due to political issues and the sad thing is that we were all brought to this site due to our passion for BBing. We have a ton in common to be dividing ourselves because we may have different political views. That being said, go Libertarians

I don't think it should be closed indefinitely. I think opening it up and just carefully regulating it to make sure it doesn't get out of hand is the best way of dealing with the problem childs.

RP is more than just a Cantidate, it's a movement, the internet is to anti-federalism what churches and college campuses were to the 60's civil rights movement.
Watch the main stream media get a slap in the mouth for relying on flawed polling methods to gauge Paul's level of support in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Yes the internet is the home of propaganda, irresponsibility and irrationality. People can throw their comments and ideas around with little or no consequence. Not a place where I would be proud of my candidate gaining support.

And the politics forum is closed down because it does no good for anyone. I will never convince a Ron Paul supporter that their emotionally driven ideas are radical, insane and dangerous as they are of course. They will never convince me that their emotionally driven logically flawed tirades make any sense whatsoever. All you see is flaming back and forth. I will leave it up to the Ron Paul supporters to live unproductive lives and spew their irrational ideas on the internet while making little or no impact in the real world.

Your question doesn't even deserve to be addressed. I will say that internet movements like Ron Paul campaign are the exhaust fumes of Democracy. Whenever people have the freedom to express their ideas independent of any factual basis there will be such movements among the various disenfranchised groups. It is healthy for these fumes to be released to a certain extent but they can be very poisonous if they infiltrate mainstream society.
Ron Paul is taking advantage of the emotionally charged delusions suffered by basically every fringe group in society. The far left anti war crowd, neo-Nazi's, prostitutes, drug dealers, stoners, college students who are enslaved to their hopeless idealism, people that are young, ignorant and new to politics. Oh yeah, lets not forget his favorite the 911 conspiracy theorists. He loves to go on Alex Jones' talk show and spout garbage like a single world government lead by secret societies is going to stage a terrorist attack to take military control of our country and form a single world govenment. Sounds like a bunch of winners to me!
Sure there are problems in our world but these people have the inability to deal with them in a rational way so they have the mindset of "Fvck It, lets just start over". That kind of mindset could not possibly be more immature or irrational. Ron Paul plays on these groups inability to comprehend the complexities of society outside of the emotional safety net of their own convoluted ideology. He is stirring them up with politically suicidal and destructive ideas. Ron Paul and this "movement" will get nowhere. There is a reason all of these groups are outside of mainstream society; them, their candidate and their perverted interests will continue to be ignored.

Would I vote for Bush over who? See I don't suffer from Bush Derangement Syndrome so I cant answer such a vague question. By the way you ask it you seem to think I should vote against Bush no matter who the opponent is. I am not that emotional or irrational to be able to make that choice without knowing the opponent.
Unfortunately having corrupted views on the world doesn't lead to a person not having financial and professional success. See Rosie O'Donnell or Mark Cuban for example.
People like me that have did not destroy the politics forum. I just provided opposition to the Bush Derangement Syndrome sufferers that cant separate their raging emotions from their political ideology. The politics forum is not their own and it should not be their safety net. They suffer from the illusion that they are mainstream but I am glad to remind them they are not even close to representing the main stream. This stirs their unstable emotions up further and the first sign of this is they begin calling people that disagree with them a Neo Con. This then begins the downfall of any productive discussion.
This thread is about to be locked and I am not going to contribute to your emotional distress any more. Good Luck with the Ron Paul thing. Maybe Alex Jones will be announced his running mate and that will get him enough support to beat the 911 planning Neo Cons!

So you're saying Ron Paul's ideas are completely ass backwards and will never work. But this country was founded on his policies, so how can you say they won't work?
I do agree that some of Ron Paul's ideas may not work since our country is vastly different from 1776, but the basic principles should still exist no matter whom is in power. But Bush has shown that he doesn't give a **** about what's going on in this country and just cares for his criminal buddies at the top of the country.
And what is the problem with starting over in the government? It's obvious that having no term limits for some political positions have made government as corrupt as it is. You have a really optimistic view about the people that are supposed to be representing the people of this country (something which was forgotten a long time ago).
As for RP being ignored, did you maybe think that the media and big business doesn't WANT someone like him in office. His foreign policy is VERY humble, and Israel doesn't like that. They want the U.S. to stay in Iraq and advance on Iran so they don't have to. They want the U.S. to do their dirty work.
As for Bush Derangement Syndrome, I do not believe Bush is the evil man the media makes him out to be. He has done some good things for this country, BUT he has done much more harm than good. To deny this is lunacy.
Also, if Ron Paul is so crazy, then why is he receiving a ton of funding, NONE of it coming from big corporations or special interest groups? Why is it that he receives the most donations from active duty personnel in the military? Is it maybe because they realize that Iraq is a complete disaster and failure, or maybe you'll just write the brave men and women whom fight for this country off as crazy conspiracy nuts.
