Plantar Fasciitis

Thing that worked absolute best for me was shoe inserts. I just got generic ones from a local podiatrist. 3-4wks of consistently using them and not wearing hard flat soled steel cap boots and I was cured.

I’ve had PF for about two years. Been thru two rounds of physical therapy to treat it. PR gets me to a certain point but doesn’t fix the problem 100%. Maybe about 80%z. I wear inserts and it helps some.

That sux. I know inserts arent a cure-all for everyone which is a bummer. A woman at my work tried everything and had to resort to cortisone shots. PF can be a real fuker.

Worth a try pinning BPC near the pain but... Contrary to the Hokas that really hurt it- and inserts that kinda helped, I actually found wearing zero-drop barefoot shoes (I like Vibram/Merrel/Bellville) to help the most. I think the toe spread and new foot muscle engagement probably was the reason. I have not felt any pain since switching over.

Barefoot footwear I love:

Barefoot shoes (allowed the tendons to lengthen naturally) got rid on mine after a few years of battling it. Thank God.

I had it for about 12-18 months. I added gel inserts to my workbooks , and it just got better. I haven’t dealt with it in over 2 years not even a little bit. But I’d think maybe just an opinion not saying you should do it but injections around the heel area may help. Though I’d advise DO NOT directly inject right into the heal where the injury is , can create more issues. I speak through experience having a minor left shoulder injury , started injecting B12 and next thing I know I’m dealing with a partial torn rotator cuff. This is a fact what happened with me. So be cautious where you inject

But you can maybe try some hemp oil topical and Curcumin oil by iconic formulations , give it a go nightly before bed

I've heard of these shoes. Been meaning to research them more and try them out!

That. Amazing how well barefoot shoes work. I use them for gym and everyday shoes.

And get a massage ball or tennis ball even and put it on the ground...just roll it around with your foot.

Decent suggestions so far, one thing to keep in mind is there can be quite a few reasons or cause for something like PF and the longer you've been dealing with it the longer it may take to correct. No idea on how using something like this would be for it, but generally if the underlying issues aren't fixed most of the time it'll just come back. You've been through some PT though so I don't want to repeat what you've probably heard.

That said if you've done things and it never actually went away there is always the possibility that you weren't dealing specifically with PF or potentially multiple issues. There are a few other things that can happen down in the lower leg that can present similarly and often times people will just jump straight to PF (as it is probably the most common) so maybe keep that in mind.
Not fully true. But is possible it comes back and in severe cases can lead to other issues , that’s with anything in life . I dealt with it for 2.5 years , once I treated it and with nothing more than some gel inserts and some anti inflammatories it went away with in 3-4 months and been gone over 3 years, I do the same work no more sole inserts and it’s never came back I have zero issues, it’s just gone. Also it can depend on foot wear also , a simple change to a better quality shoe or boot can simply eliminate the issue

What anti-inflammatory did you use?

I like Xero myself...
I got a pair of these just to wear around the house since we have hardwood floors. I've had them since June and like them so far for just bumming around. Barefoot shoes were recommended to me by my back/DNS doctor. He also has me rolling a lacrosse ball around on the bottom of my foot daily.

Any one have something for Morton’s neuroma , my toe hurts like a bitch …. I know , I know it’s just a toe but man does this suck … tried some insoles from Amazon but after a day my feet felt terribly. I’m a commercial carpenter and on my feet all day… please help lol

Sounds like that sucks. Sorry I don’t but maybe the strengthening that resolve10 suggested?

Yeah man it feels like my second toe ( older brother of a pinky toe) getting stab with a red hot needle right on the tip of it …

PF was brutal for me for a long time back around 2015-2016. I played with every insert I could find. mine finally started to improve with a great pair of Saucony running shoes. just walking in them helped. I had to limit my runs, like any rehab assignment. 100 yards... 1/4 mile... 1 mile... it never went away fully and can still nag the heel at times. if I wear shitty shoes, or horrible sandals too much it flares up pretty bad. but I just work to take better care of my feet these days and it really mitigates flare ups.

Are you doing anything else specifically right now for it?

Working on intrinsic foot muscle strengthening can help, making sure shoes aren’t too small and/or wider toe box shoes may help, and then when you aren’t wearing shoes or working I’ve seen toe spacers help depending on the specifics of the issue.
Got wide work boots.. still looking for some decent sneakers.. tried toe spacers but only in the day time with the boots and it sucked , will try to sleep with them . will look up a foot exercises .. thanks for your time.
